I don't think these "decals" come off that easily.

Lets hope they do. Or get shipped separately for dealer install. The car is bitchin...the decals suck.

SpeedGeek is absolutely right. Porsche doesnt care. When the 997.1 came out we were all saying that the last time a RS came here was 25 years ago. We may not get one for another 25 years and we had people more than happy to pay 100k over MSRP. This time we know that there was one 2 MY years ago in 08. So why think there is not a new one in 2012 or 13? This will keep people from slobbering all over their wallet to get one knowing they will get one later if the dealer is on Coke, OR they can get a MKI for a good price.
The economy is in the buyers favor this time. It will limit the people willing to go over MSRP. I was surprised how many RS's came in after the official number was reached. It will probably be in the 300's

Funny. Same thing with my wife. Thought the car looked great - very aggressive - except for the fender decal.

I heard they were painted on or at least -and more likely- clear coated over them; not certain. They definately don't get installed by the dealer.

They are not painted on, they are decals. The painted on pieces are the wing tips, mirrors, wheels, etc.

.... and they might get installed by the Dealer.... like the RSA. Too early to be definitive!
