Car will be debuted in Frankfurt in september. Most likely we will see the car hit USA in mid to late 2010 as 2011 MY.

Think spring 2010 or this time next year

If Porsche has the car all ready to produce, why would they wait to sell it to the US Market for another 9 months? This would make no sense to me. the cars are just about a guarantee sell for Porsche, especially with all the goodies it will get this time around.

The 997 MKII GT3 debut in Europe was some time in March or so this year and we saw its debut here in the US early April with production dates in June.

At the Porsche Factory a tour guide told me about 50% of Porsches produced are shipped to the US. Can anyone confirm this?

It would make a lot of sense for PCNA to hold the RS for a few months, given the worse than expected sales of the 2010 GT3.

It doesn't make sense to bring the RS, as it will steal sales from the standard GT3 that being such a great car is not selling that well (blame the economy).

I hope they make the RS a lot better than the regular GT3, and with MSRP not exceeding $160k.

Looks like it is down to about 30% for North America
911 Worldwide 32,300
911 North America 10,775

More interesting reading HERE

Worldwide sales below FY07-08

Yes, GT3.2 sales have been lower than forecasted. That explains the number of pre-ordered GT3 MK IIs sitting on dealer lots. I get phone calls about twice a week from Porsche dealers wanting to know if I want to buy one at MSRP.

That 50% number is a good number to use. Maybe not this year or next but its always close. I think he must just have been used to saying that for years

I put my deposit in April '08 and was told 2 months ago by my dealer that I could put together the order in October following the September intro in Frankfurt. I might go to see the car. Delivery would be March / April.

I would not be surprised if they delay it for a few months. I have been offered a GT3 by another nearby dealer without asking. GT3's plenty at MSRP or less.

My dealer says not 100% sure, but I sending him a deposit this afternoon. If it doesn't happen, it's transferable.
