? GT3 Launch Car Strategy
What's with all the dealer spec'ed GT3's showing up first at dealerships? All the reports of the 2010's arriving at dealerships on both coasts have been unaccounted for cars, most configured with lots of expensive options that drive up the profit margin.
My car was on the ground in Baltimore last week, but still no word of when it'll be delivered. Has anyone who spec'ed an early build car actually taken delivery of it yet? This sure feels like a launch car marketing methodology to me.

My dealer just got in 2 this morning. I bought one of them. I think Porsche needs money with the VW thing going on and having to buy out WW. Works for me.

Mine shows PDI complete, loaded. It is now my dealer's inventory, but has not shown up. Maybe this weekend?
EDIT - It's here, going to pick it up on Friday.

mine was off-loaded last week, 7/21, in san diego but not to me yet. the dealer e-mailed the port boss and was told that the release of customer spec'd gt3's would be either today or tomorrow. i am still chasing and complaining. my car sits baking in the sun, instead of in my garage preping for battle.

I saw first customer ordered car (not mine) come off the truck at Fla dealer last Saturday afternoon late, so customer ordered cars are released and hitting dealers. It was very nice car, GT Siver, Natural Grey leather....

Yes, another incremental increase in power and functionality by Porsche to reap additional revenue without significant improvements over the MK.1. At the prices they are selling for, you can buy a new GT2, but that's a turbo without the lovely GT3 engine.
