Default Rotating directional tires?

Yep, I'm sure this will sound stupid but I'm asking just in case. I own a 997 Gt2 and currently have pirelli p zero corsa tires that are clearly marked as directional. My question is, can they be rotated left to right (against direction of rotation) safely for dry use. In other words, are the tread grooves the reason they are directional and is this applicable only in wet conditions. I'd got some uneven wear on the left to right side because of the track i've been running and would like to even this up by rotating the tires. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.
Niteal.

I'd consider remounting them inside out to maintain the direction of rotation, while still swapping left to right.

I did with MPSC, no problem, even in the torrential rain here.

Usually the direction is just to avoid hydroplaning in wet conditions. However, I agree with 911/q45 that the best move is to flip them inside out on the rims before moving them to the other side of the car to maintain the correct directionality.

MPSC are not directional. THey have "Outside" on the side of the tire that should be mounted facing the outside of the vehicle. They can go on either side, back and forth.

Until you're going fast in the wet. Then the Michelins suck while the Corsas rule.

For general street use I love the Corsas on my RS.

Agreed, the corsa's are excellent in the wet and are also much better on the street, however on a hot dry track day the mpsc are superior.

I believe RonCT once commented on his Toyo R888s which ARE directional (I have them on the 986). I think he said that he rotated them L-R and didn't notice a big difference.

Ron,...care to comment????

Keep in mind as well that some asymetric tires have different compound zones across the treadcap. Example, inner shoulders may be designed for wet grip, outer for the dry. Wear could be increased dramatically by flipping them.

Very good point. If I recall correctly this is true especially for the Corsas. I guess that's also the reason why Manthey recommends a different suspension set-up for the Corsas (compared to the MPSC).

You can swap the rear R888's side-to-side to even out the camber wear. I got a whopping 3700 street miles out of a set of rears that way
