How many H/C are you getting out your tires?
I see very different numbers for this in different threads, I have limited very limited experience (only about 12 track days) that's nothing in compare to most others.
I feel that after 16-18 heat cycles my tires start loosing significant amounts of grip, what is the opinnion of the more experienced guys?
I see people talking about H/C for a set of tires as high as 40 or 80???
I my case after 16-18 cycles or 4 track days my tires have loose 60-70% of tread grooves, but more important I sees a big decline in tire grip (19's MSPC and Corsas in my case so far), I'm about to buy my four set, maybe I'm trowing away my money!!!
What are in your experience the typical H/C numbers for different tires: MPSC, Pirelli Corsa's, Toyo's and othes?
thanks,

if mpsc, 16-20 HC is about right.
if toyo, i can get to 25 HC then they usually will cord.
NO tires, trust me, no tires will get you 40 - 80 HC. unless you are driving 20mph.
if you do find 40-80HC track tires, pls share, i am SURE everyone on here would love to have those ;-)

Toyos seens as a good option, but I see very different opinnions regarding their performance, I see some guys saying their are not that good specially during the first heat cycles.

i get 6-8 good HC on hoosier R6
10-15 HC the hoosiers are no faster than any other tires. in fact, i am faster on toyo's compared to 10+ HC R6'.s
after 15 HC, i have to seriously play car control.
but i do LOVE hoosiers.

My experience with Hoosier R6's
1-6 H/C's = Heaven
7-12 H/C's = Decent but fading by the lap
13-15 = Might as well be on MPS2'
16-17 = Slip slide and away, but fun
Never got more than 17 before tires corded

I second DRG13 except I cord them by 13 to 15. They are pretty much every day tires after 10 cycles. They are still fun to drive until corded, however, because they are surprisingly linear in their breaking away once they get older. It helps to learn the balance of the car.
I drove my last R6s to 14 cycles, corded them, switched to R888s and dropped my lap times 3-4 seconds at Barber. Probably would drop another 3-4 with new R6s.

A number of us Z06 instructors are running Kumho V 710's...
They last longer than Hoo Hoo's (36 to 42 heat cycles)
and don't require as much "neg camber"....
allowing use of the car for both track & street.
New Hoosiers are a bit faster for the first two or three sessions,
after that the Kumho's shine.

HC's
I must confess, I do manage the tires as best I can. I rotate (inside out) on the rim after 10-12 HC's. Also, I make sure that I scrape off the marbles after each day. Front camber roughly -3.0 / rear -2.3 to -2.4. Anymore in the rear and yes, they will cord quick.
I did run a set of BF Goodrich R1's. They are not corded after 44 HC's (roughly 9-10 days) - but they have gone off in terms of ultimate grip. Good bang for the buck.
