Do we think the increased front track (and those extensions) are to help alieviate the understeer that everyone complains about?

so the RS will be 14hp more than the 997.2 GT3? that would put it at 450? along with the wider front track, the nice wing, and a nice riviera blue with orange stripes...sold!

I would be very surprised if many US GT3 track drivers get to use 5th gear (not to mention 6th). I know the Nurburgring has a very fast long straight at the end of the course - maybe that needs 6th gear. For any GT3 owners not fortunate enough to drive the Nordschliefe, I would think the current 6th gear is superfluous (and their times would benefit if the tallest ratio was the one currently used for 5th and the other ratios made lower and closer together (maybe leave 1st alone and closely stack 2nd through 6th).

EDIT: Just did a search and looks like current 4th is good for 148mph and current 5th is good for 176 mph. I would guess that even a Nordshliefe driver would run a better time with a box that limited Vmax to 176, but provided a tighter gear stack (keep the motor closer to the engine's power peak longer). I'm not even sure if a stock GT3 can exceed 176mph on Doettinger Hohe, can it? If so, not for very long...

And as I suspected, there are very few courses in this country that allow a stock GT3 to exceed 148mph. I guess autobahn cruising is the place where you'd truly miss the stock 6th gear...

I hit 180 at AAA speedway banking and close at Las vegas. That being said I dropped my rear ratio to 4:1 and now have 178 vmax. MUCH better. Weird being in 6th on track.

Lets see on the ring I hit 175 on the front straight and nearly pissed myself.

Yes R&P change would be nice, and I think you'd be happier still if the individual ratios were more closely stacked, so that the rev drop was smaller on upshifts (R&P does not affect that).

BTW, you're hitting some high speeds in the US - nice going!

I wish, you can hit it if you take the middle road on the banking after being WOT the 3 turns before. Figure 5mph or so speedo error and whatever +/- for tire diameter, I was on slicks.

I see there's some doubt, and I wish I could send you some data but i only had my AIM at that time and relied on the speedo. So please take it with that in mind

I'll be more humble in the future, thanks for the ego check.

Let's look outside the box Vic, maybe someone else needs to do some soul searching??? As what makes what you said egotistical?? There is always someone with more skill, a faster driver, that has a faster car, and so on... So what happens when that faster more experienced driver brings up his personal experience on track that is true? How does that make YOU have the big ego or arrogant??

My big gripe with my ex GT3 was the gearing. Shorter would be better. 179.2 mph @ Daytona 24hr course in the GT2. Traqmate.

ILLM3 which is it, the RUF GT2, GT3RS clone @ switchcars or the new RS. Me i'll be in the GT2 for a long time.

Peter man.... You came from a GT3, so that means a lot to me... I really am itching for a GT3, but I realize we need them both, one is not a replacement for the other, I just keep trying to make a deal and keep on trying to get myself to really make the switch... But it just doesn't seem to happen, yes I am so damn confused/indecisive , but can you blame me??
