PDK C2S UnBEEELievable!!!!!!

Yes the 2010 can not fit PDK due to the GT1 engine...that is really the main reason. I believe that when Porsche changes the GT3 to the 09 Carrera S block in the coming years there will be PDK and many will buy PDK in a GT3.

I have 7000 miles and 5 track days on my Carrera S PDK. It is really a very fast car! I am turing a 2:29-30 at Sebring and that is 6-8 sec. faster than my 07 C2S. PDK is Sport Chrono PLUS mode and the lowered Sport PASM woth LSD at the track is amazing. I really believe that the claimed 385hp is really under rated and with PDK the power stays on all the time with the very fast and positive upshifts and the fast rev match down shifts.
I was able to pass 996GT3's with ease and able to stay with 997 GT3's..even passed 1!

Glad you drove the C2S PDK, OG.
The thing blew me away at Miller Motorsport Park. I've been running a 2009 Cayman S PDK at Thunderhill and Laguna and am VERY impressed with PDK on track. Worth every one of its 66 additional pounds on track for the on-throttle shifts/perfect downshifts and the fact it lets you concentrate on braking, throttle, and steering inputs alone.
For the street, however, I'm with Ralph: three pedals, please -- but maybe I'll be converted in a year?
Anyway, I also noticed that the 2009 C2S is a whole new ball game (one that is approaching GT3 territory), and that it's ALL the 911 street/hardcore guys need. The fact PASM, PSM, and PCM are all noticeably better now, too, is just gravy...

2009 Carrera S
PDK
Sport PASM
Sport Seats...wish I could fit in the Sport Bucket GT2 seats!
no Bose or Nav...basic car. Probably does not save much weight though plus I weight 240lbs....a good 150lb driver should do even better.
I am running 9x18 and 12x18 CCW with Toyo R888. I drive to and from the track in this car.
I believe there is even more in the car to get even better times. My next step is private instruction...possibly someone like Seth Thomas ect. That is a goal of mine if I can afford it. I do not want to run DE's at 10/10ths I want to stay safe and with in my skill and the cars potential.

I still need to catch a ride in a PDK, but Norm always takes off when I am not paying attention...
Fast, stock GT3's do 2:22 - 2:24's at Sebring on Toyo's but those PDK cheater cars are going awefully fast... :-)
Me to need private instructor, maybe we can share??

Three Wheelin'
is it at all "unsatisfying" to simply stomp on a pedal and go? I'm certainly not the best stick driver, and I can't heel heel and toe, but for a sports car, I really like banging the gears. that said, I at least owe the thing a test drive...I think I'll be more excited if and when it comes with paddles (like I had in my E46 SMG)

Still plays with cars.

It's not just stomp and go, that's for traffic jams. Think of it as having a sequential gear box which requires no heel and toe for equally fast down-shifts

It has shift paddles and they are very easy to use. I was not impressed when I saw them in a mag and I bought the AMG with the 7 speed with blipped throttle. The AMG are left shift down and right shift up.
I thought that was superior to PDK layout. But after driving both the PDK is more easy to use the shift paddles.
Pete I should have listened to you last year when I bought the AMG. Pete I should have listened to YOU!!
Cole in the beginning its more involving than a 6 speed I guess when you learn it it wont be but in the beginning its hard to remember everything.

OG,
You crack me up man. When you had to get rid of the GT3 due to your back and picked up the C63, I felt so bad for you, but my god all you wrote about post after post after post and tried to convince us all was how great the C63 was and how it was THE car to have ( a 4-door MB, too funny). Hell if we had bought solely on your posts, Rennlist would have folded and we'd all be on the MB site (whatever that is), I just assumed you were very upset because the GT3 had to go and you were really trying to convince yourself the C63 was so great. Now this C2 PDK...come on man, pull up your GT3 pants and get back in the game..TT? come on, you know it won't fill the void, either will that PDK...You've tasted the GT3, all others won't quench that thirst...you know it...go buy another GT3 and stop with these silly comparisons...I'm just jerking your chain and I'm glad you'll finally be back in a P-car..

D you dont think I wasnt trying to convince myself? I was only talking about the C63 as a addition for a 911 NEVER as a replacement. Drug therapy has shown me that.
Hey D I love when you jerk my chain. Everything you said was true too.
I would love to have a GT3 again but given my back is only partially better so I am compromising on the TT. The last couple weeks the back has improved exponentially but I am wary of a setback (pardon the pun)
D you live in my two favorite places Dallas and Park city. I was there for the 2002 olympics (and other times)

OG,
I'm glad to see you have a good sense of humor, I was worried you'd take my teasing too seriously. I'm currently laid up after just having my knee reconstructed 5 days ago (nowhere close to your back problems), won't be driving my car for a couple months, it's killing me not being able to drive it, but this has given me a revelation to appreciate a lot of things we take for granted (like being able to walk or get up and take a leak).
