Default build date moved up; fee question

Salesman just informed me that my build was moved up from Oct. to August! I am stoked. But the updated order sheet reflects change in delivery charge from $950 to $2,250...anyone else seeing this or are they back-dooring me since my deal is at MSRP?

Hmmm. Porsche no longer honoring warranties. Denying service claims for irrelevant aftermarket parts.

Sounds like the new delivery charge is on par.

Also sounds like the demand is softer than expceted as well. I wonder how many people have dropped off dealer lists with the delay in selected options, continued economic downslide or Porsche's manners.

Did they print you a Proforma??

I saw one posted here and it listed "Gas Guzzler Tax" of $1300, that may be the extra $$
Apparently the MPG figures have not been submitted to the FED yet and until then
the tax is added. If mileage rates are the same there will be no GG Tax.
Late '06 for '07 the same situation happened

I did, I may still get one but I have no intention of buying something unknown at this time because of all of Porsches changes. There will be build slots available anyway, not too much of a loss especially since one of my friends is dead set on a certain color and can't get it because they will not paint GT3's to sample like every other car. Even painted wheels got pushed back again.

That may be it but it was printed in upper right corner as $2,250 "destination charge".

never understood why people paint wheels from the factory for 2k or whatever they charge, any good local shop can do that

Bet your order date moved up the same reason why I am moving mine back: someone ahead of you wants front end lift and/or dynamic engine mounts, so they are moving you up. Dynamic engine mounts won't be available until September and front end lift won't be available until October. My dealer is now bumping me back 1-2 slots so I can get the options I want.

Because in the UK, that would stop you extending the warranty after the 2 years are up.

Bend over, and pull 'em down...
