I think YOUSEF really, really wants the GT3 persona. (who wouldnt )
he will grow into it methinks... and with the help of PCA and a little D.E, he will probably understand and love the 997 GT3 for even more reasons then he thinks he does now....
He will blossom quickly

You need to really think about what kind of car you want and not just think about the GT3 because it is cool. You should drive the Turbo, the S and the GT3 to see what everyone is talking about. In my humble opinion the GT3 is too stiff and loud for just a daily driver and you would be much better off with one of the other options.

I'd like to seriously suggest that you hit up the two day Porsche driving schools. If you've got the free time, then you can do the basic and masters in immediate sequence. You'll get the best education on the handling of a powerful rear engine precision machine.
Mustang directly to GTx Porsche is a potentially dangerous step. Like going directly from a Homelite 16" chain saw to a Stihl 880 magnum 59" chain saw because, well, they are both chain saws.
Both the Stihl and the Porsche GTx are precision machines that do exactly what your inputs are telling them to do... and "garbage in, garbage out".

If you foresee the possibility of participating in track events at some future date, I would say go for the 3, otherwise the Turbo or the S will be plenty. My first car was a 996C4 Conv. followed by the 997S and finally taking a dive head first into an RS. The 3 is an awesome car that really shines when your driving abilities are up to par.

Here's another clue...from the PCA: 30% of all on track "incidents" involve GT3s.
GT3 is a fun car to drive. But a tough one to drive fast without crashing. After 2+ years I'm still learning.

Nobody and I MEAN NOBODY wants a sunroof on a GT3.
Did I say NOBODY?
A GT3 without a wing is murderous. I have been hit by a gust of wind at 140 without the front
lip and the car is very unbalanced without both wings.
In a Mustang you can get a CONVERTIBLE!!!! Or in a Turbo you can get a Rag top But nobody wants
a hole in a GT3. There is many a legendary thread here ragging on Porsche for PUTTING one in the 997 Mk I GT3.
You obviously havent read much here those are the two no nos on a GT3
A. WITH a Sunroof
B. WITHOUT a wing
Those two requests put you in a Turbo. Who wants a 911 without a Big Ole Wing???

Besides Ralph, I know of another (Arctic, curiously) GT3 owner who LOVES the sunroof in his car. Oh, wait, did I just say the s word?
Yousef, buy whatcha like. But DO take those Porsche driving school classes. Way to easy to waste a lot of years you could be learning at an accelerated rate if you get the right instructors. Hint: David Murry, for one.
Lest you turn that GT3 into a front-engined car...

Ya know... sometimes you just have to step back and read these threads for some comedy relief. I just went through all the responses and realized just how funny people are at times. I guess the humor comes in with the times when people have different opinions. Like someone pointing out "don't talk about the sunroof" then another says "nobody wants it" then another says "Just call me nobody" then he reports "You don't count because you live in Cali" and it goes on and on and on.....
Might just be the mood I am in, but it all struck me as funny. Sometimes you just have to step back and take a look around.
My advice would be to go to some track events and ask around about different models. I think the Porsche driving school would give you some quick insight as you do not need a car to go, bonus there. Bottom line is you must decide what you ultimately want out of the car. The cool thing is most P cars can be used on and off the track until you start some serious modifications.

Sure, he might be a member or a troll (or both ). But then again he might not be.
What's with a few of you taking a "Porsche attitude" with the guy? He's got money and he wants a GT3 and you're recommending he buy something else
Most provided great responses including some education so all-in-all it's a good thread for what could be a newbie.
My advice: Buy what you want! If you want the hole buy used. Heck, there may even be a few here willing to sell their GT3/RS with a hole ready and waiting.
Read, learn and enjoy.
