If it follows the same time line as the last one, there should be an "official release" coming very soon.

Hi Boyd,

My guess is that the RS price does not change until the new RS is almost being delivered.
But after that it is hard to ask $110 - $120 When you can get a new one at MSRP for $140K. Especially if it comes with something special, like PDK or a 4.0.

Apparently Porsche has already officially said there will be no PDK in any GT series 911 due to the weight and incompatibility with the GT1 based motor.

Now that you say that, I read that somewhere also.

Makes sense in the new world of Porsche. The GT1 will probably be phased out eventually - why waste $$$ modifying the PDK and upgrading the internals to handle the added power?

if you want to sell, now is the time.
RS will only drop in price.
even if the next RS is only 3.8L and no pdk, for someone who doesn't yet have an RS, why buy the used one when new can can be had at msrp?

RS used to mean homologation for race purposes. Now, it appears that it is just a marketing exercise for potential revenue. Do you really want a new RS? Why?

I think my next bucks will be spent on restoring an old 356 or 911S. I've had enough of guessing what Porsche will do from a marketing perspective to save their *** after the VW fiasco.
