Default 2010 GT3 market? anybody wanna guess?

Given our economy is in the toliet and our naive POTUS is giving away state secrets, anybody wanna guess how this GT3 release is going to go? Are we going to see
markups. Markdowns? MSRP? Who is going to pay over for this car?
I paid 5K over for the 07 GT3 I got carried away
with the giddiness of the last GT3/RS market and but I wasnt happy about it. I still harbor bad feelings about the dealers taking advantage of us and telling some nontruths about availability of the RS or the coming of another RS which looks like it is coming little less than 2 years later. Think about how those guys who paid 50K and over for an RS.

Then the RS is going to come out in 2010.5 or 2011 then what. 100K over AGAIN? MSRP?

Here is my guess. I think that dealers will start off (same guys who were asking 300K for a GT2 8 months ago) at MSRP for GT3s and 5-10K over for MSRP for RS. I never seem to get over the audacity that the dealers show for some of the most loyal customers in ANY market. Not just car markets but any kind of customer.
Looks Like I am going to be in the position of buying my car for 125 selling it for 115 and buying one back for 80K

i think in MOST calif mkt, GT3 and RS will be at msrp. there's still a lot of money in CA, recession or not. i am sure there will be dealers marking them up, but a lot fewer than last few years. i am guessing a "correctly" equipped GT3 would be around 125 while RS would be $150 or so (both with pccb). with that in mind the current GT3 is pretty good bargain at 80 and 6gt3 is a giveaway at 55k. perhaps you can entertain 6gt3 again?

And the fact 998 prototype pics are floating around the internet already. Unless Porsche truly limits the production, like few hundred for the GT3 and a hundred or so on the RS, it will be discounted just like any other 911.

methinks the 997.2 GT3 will be MSRP. no more, no less.

i dont think there is enough people out there to demand the 997 GT3.2 with the 997.1 so close in comparison this time around.

i think you need a GT3 again as you are as certifiable as the rest of us here! a 997TT just wont cut it!

They'll sell for MSRP in spite of the POTUS giving away state secrets.

These are dark times, aren't they?

I would hold my judgement on sale prices of the RS to see what kind of performance gap there is from the GT3. If this is large gap I bet they will sell for a hefty price. There are always people out there who have plenty of money and can turn cars over like soil in the field. This would obviously depend upon production #'s of RSs. There are enough rumors out there that point to a more viable performance gap between the GT3 and RS this time around, purely speculation at this point unless someone else knows otherwise and is willing to share specific details.

John, if what you say is true, then my 07 GT3 plus $70k plus tax will get me that 2011 GT3RS. Not sure it will be worth it . . .

Paul, all Canadian allocations are spoken for at MSRP. This car is hot and I would not be surprised if someone pays slightly over MSRP, even in this environment. Where else can you get this much car, with this much heritage for this price?
