Day at shannonville with the wevo mounts
- I won't mention the first day of the year spin or the 997 cupcar that was ripping it up or the drive home in the rain with bald shot r888s (that was crazy)
- the mounts at the track and on the 2hr drive there and back were good
- shift feel was definitly tight
- this is a long go-cart track with lots of 2nd to 3rd shifts
- never had a grind (but that is not definitive conclusion just a fact)
- so far no downside (again I'm using the softer of the polymers)

Paul, give us the report when you get back. I did the toe links and can't say it feels any different just the piece of mind knowing the toe is not going to change. The motor mounts sounds like it might be worth while too.

I too couldn't feel the toe links but my rear tires were shot so maybe that is why - I suspect that the toe links just prevent additional allignments
The engine mounts I think are a good mod for those that get the 2nd to 3rd grind at their local track
Why? - because it is an easy mod that is reversable and the total cost is not that high - especially when you compare the cost of a new tranny from gringing
No downside and the car went into 3rd even when I was sideways
Maybe it is a good idea to wait a while and let me try it out on corners I know for certain it happens

Impossible, a condition of importing a cup is they are never to be used on the road. mpossible to homologise for the road.

you don't feel toe links, you just stop aligning the car every other track day (if you don't notice it's out of wack you need amore sensitive *******) and no unexplained 360s under load.

The shifter itself is more "notchy" as opposed to the stock stirring oatmeal shifting. It's like a rifle bolt not a short shifter. No extra force just a more positive engagement and more consistent.
A fact of life is that shifter cables stretch, these don't as much and even then they are easy to adjust with the "kool" tool (don't ask me what it is exactly, kool is a brand). The ends are ball bearings, much more positive feel and the coupler is steel as opposed to plastic.
Only negative is cost. like 500 for the cables and 500 for shifter and various bull**** pieces.

thanks! i actually hate "oatmeal shifting" so the cup shifter is now on my "to do" list.

There was a cupcar ripping it up - 'I' in a street gt3 drove home in a downpour in nearly bald r888s - and so did a bunch of other pcars

That sounds like a plan, Motor mounts is a winter project anyway, so I will check back in with you later this year and see if that gets on the list. Looking for stimulus or lottery money to fund the budget. I have two lists, the Money is no object list and the list I can get done in the next 12 months.

- finally picked up the car
- fluid changes (engine oil, gear / lsd oil, brake fluid)
- tarret toe arms
- wevo engine mounts (softer of the 2 polymers)
- tarret toe arm feedback will have to wait until tomorrow at the track
- thought i would give street driving feedback of the engine mounts - good news is nothing to report, there is no increased vibration / noise in the cabin - no resonance of any kind
- the reason i decided to do the mounts is that i want to tighten everything down without crossing the line to track only car (noise, vibration, etc)
- now, with 996gt3 seats & sharkwerks exhaust, the "in cabin" experience isn't showroom floor identical (it is obviously a little louder with the exhaust and the lower less padded seats give it a more race car feel) - so maybe there is a small change with the mounts for street driving but i can't feel it (=good)
- i will say that with all of the above plus and a fresh alignment at (-2.7 with 1mm toe out per side and -2.3 with 2mm toe in per side, gt2 rear sway on middle hole) and a 4.0 R&P the car is pure heaven (it is a true sin to be driving it at 40mph around the city)
- tomorrow i hope to burn through 3 tanks of gas on the track
