Go for the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup N0's. They fill the wheel-well better and are less expensive (albeit still damn expensive). They are US$543ea rear.

btw next time around, I'm going to go for the Bridgestone RE11 or the Conti's for street since I have dedicated track tires/wheels. The Bridgestone's are much cheaper and I've had good luck with them in the past, but they are heavy, whereas the Conti's are pretty light.

$640 305/30/19 on tire rack. most local shops will match it as you'll also be paying full price for mount, balance and alignment.

Is the N0 spec different than the normal corsa system? the normal tire is only $491, the guy at tire rack said it was a different compound and load rating (98y for normal and 102y "XL" for N0)

I know the viper spec sport cups are way stickier than our sizes, just like the sport cups for the gt3 are not really the sport cups that you can get in other sizes.

btw the right rear is 689, the left rear is 640....??? I called and confirmed with them that was really the case.

NO is porsche specific.. also note the difference in pricing for Left vs Right tire... there must be a difference in R-compound material of NO and non - NO corsa systems.

Almost always in modern tires, the N0 tire will be lighter in weight than the regular version. For the Corsa, the N0 rear is 26 lbs vs. 29 lbs for the regular Corsa. In addition, there are often differences in tire noise, etc.

There is just no way that this tire is worth 650.00 per rear tire. If I needed street tires, which don't have to be that exacting I would do the PS2 or the other less expensive tires. for a track tire many other reasonable alternatives. I had Corsas and tracked them and liked the tire but the price is not competitive with other options that are as good.

I'm getting a set of Re11s, 1000/set of 4 shipped. This is bridgestones new tire made for porsche, their version of a N rated cup tire(read street tire), expect N0 rating shortly, then you will start seeing these on all the new GT cars.

They will have to lose some weight before Porsche will put an N rating on them. They are 27 and 33 lbs front and rear respectively. In comparison, the Michelin PSC are 20 and 27 lbs, that's a huge difference in un-sprung, rotating weight.

How does the Bridgestone RE050A which comes on some 997S stock compare with the Bridgestone RE11?

The RE11 is supposed to replace RE 01R, that is what I heard and the dry grip level is very much improved.
Having said that, all potenza tires are heavy tires.
