I'll have to get the scoop on how the owner got the plate. He drives it to the events. (concours events) The car looks new and IIRC was VERY expensive. This car has all of the motorsport bits and pieces on it and looks pretty sparse.

Apparently, around $225k. http://www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk/...hp/carno/49227

A RL member is a previous owner of that car (https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...-for-sale.html).

A good friend here in the Austin PCA has speed yellow RS that he found in Holland. The car is in concours condition.....Sorry about the bad pics -These were taken with my phone camera..
Used to have an RS... He sold it to a good budy of mine.... The car was far from concours.... But it is now.... Many hours spent making it perfect... It is a great example of a very rare car... It lives in Oregon, like my the Silver RS used to...

As far as Importing, it cost a bit of money but well worth it...

Which one do you like driving the best... When I had them both, I would reach for an RS any day over the GT3...

Great post, I love the RS.... Thanks for sharing.

The RS is the better car to drive, it is lighter and smaller, sounds better being aircooled, and demands to be thrashed all the time. The car does not live with me, but at my fathers house, so I do not get to drive it that much which is fine as it has only done 42k miles. However, whenever I get the chance I take it out for a serious blast around the amazing roads we have up there in Scotland. The GT3 is a phenomonal car, very fast, handles impeccably but it does not have the charm and soul of the RS, the GT3 is the car I use for more mundane stuff and track work and try not to worry about too much. Given the choice i'd keep the RS everytime, its a bonafide piece of Porsche history although I do love the GT3 too.

Beautiful car. Agreed re: the 993's - GT3 is a great car but just lack "soul".

Also agree. 996/997 GT3s win on engine, but the 993 RS chassis still might be the best-handling factory 911 I have driven. That thing is magical chassis-wise, and wonderful fun in every way...

Joey. Sounds like Smithie, me, and you might be having that rendezvous soon... Good stuff.

Yes, magical is the word for the 993 RS chassis. I also have a 997 GT3 and a 993 RS, and while the GT3 will get you from A to B more quickly, safely, and comfortably, within 30 seconds of driving the 993 RS you are smiling ear to ear.

Drove a real 993 RS/CS and was shocked by how good it was, then lived with a normal 993 set up with full RS suspension (every piece) properly set up for a month or so. I should have changed my address to simply "Back Roads of Mt. Tamalpais, Fairfax, California" because that's where I took up residence for the four to six weeks....

For those who haven't sampled one (and sadly, that's a lot of us) the 993 RS is one of the all-time great 911s.

Very curious to try the 964 RS. Everything I hear suggests it's way more hardcore and less streetable.
