Price drop on the RS
I'm dropping the price to $122,000. Please pass the word. The car needs to go. Thanks! It is in the classifieds listed also.

It does appear that there are a shortage of buyers out there right now unless it is a screaming deal. I think I may put it on ebay at 120 with no reserve and see what happens. If it doesn't sell then, pick it up and drive that beast until the market returns. Heck, I haven't driven it since the new engine has been installed.

If you don't get your price then by all means just drive the thing and enjoy it. But if you absolutely must sell it, then take what you can get right now. It would take a miracle for the market to return any time soon, and as the new GT3 draws closer, the current models are only heading one way - south.
GL with the sale. It's a fantastic car regardless of the economy.

The world economy is in a phase of deleveraging and asset deflation. This is not a common or garden variety cyclical downturn. Expecting the market for overpriced used cars to improve is very wishful thinking, IMHO.

I thought the new GT3 debuts at $112k base? If it's $120 then I agree $119k would not necessarily be overpriced for your car. Regardless, I just think used cars, which are depreciating assets, are only headed one way for the foreseeable future.
The 996 RS is a crude and basic beast next to the 997. And a bit more fun too, which is why I still have it. However, the 3.8 beckons...

Agreed, don't think any current Porsche will ever go up in value as they are too mass produced. However GT3 and RS are always more desirable, so their value will go down slower, but still will not go up, as they are just toys, not investments.
Also agreed that the 997.2GT3 is hurting the RS value as I will rather buy a newer car that is faster and has some useful new technology.

Well, I stand corrected on the price of the new 3. I actually got that price off of a post here when they were first introduced.
Anyway, I listed my car starting at $115,000 on ebay!!! I'm going to make a valiant effort to sell it in the next week. Then, I'm picking her up for sure if it doesn't sell. We will see what happens!
