Default PCCB - Marked Weights

This feature is growing and growing...

I'm awaiting some info from SGL about the weights marked on the mounting bells of PCCB discs.

While I'm waiting, I'd like to collect more data -

1. Can someone who knows (just post if you're certain of this) tell me if the marked weights are present on Gen1 discs - I think they are only on Gen2. I'll ask in the 996 forum if no one knows here, but this gives me less threads to follow

2. For anyone who would take the time to record this for me, I'm very grateful - what are the marked weights on your brakes: LF/RF, LR/RR

Thanks, as always.

Thanks.

I was wondering if they were in any way 'selected' for a given vehicle - as closely matched pairs, for example, but it would seem not. Looks like they all have the same kind of tolerance, but do keep the figures coming, people, please.

Thanks for that useful piece of Gen 1 data there too!

We should do swaps to get matching pairs.

Thanks, Guys - you can stop now.

SGL have told me that the weights (also present on Gen 1, they say, but probably hard to see) are only there as a wear-indication for racing use, when, for example, the wear-indicator holes can become blocked with compacted pad material. Haven't yet heard what the parameter for deciding the limit of weight-realted wear is, but obviously it's pretty academic, as it will be apparent by surface condition, wear-indicators (Gen 2 only) and thickness without having to resort to weighing them.

Thought you'd like to know.

Thanks to all, once again for the info.

FYI, the limit for wear based on weight-reduction (rotor plus mounting bell) is 'approximately' 2.5%.

2,5 percent, now that is one piece of information that is genuinely new. Thanks!
