Talking OldGuy's GT Silver 997 GT3 Shows Up @ SharkWerks:)

Hey fellas, OldGuy's GT Silver 997GT3 showed up with its new owner this week to get a few more toys. First order of business was the GT3RS light weight flywheel kit. Out comes the transmission (no.. the engine does not need to come out).

As with every GT3 or RS we always slot in the protective Cargraphic screen kit.

Being "oldguys" ride it already had a SharkWerks exhaust

And tips...

Next we installed some brushed 19 inch HRE P43 wheels.

We also installed the EVOMSit software and EVO pedal kit.

And here she is ready to go home...

FYI, if anyone is interested in a set of used 18 inch Fikse Profil 10 wheels (anodized gray centers) with Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires on there let me know. The customer wants $3900 OBO.

Always cruel to see an old girlfriend (one that you still like, anyway) hanging out with a new bloke.

So it goes.

Anyway, noice wuheels!

Can't say I like the pedals much (pity Porsche doesn't do just a little bit nicer stock factory pedal.)

What does the software do? For the flywheel, are you also changing anything else on the engine? Any main seal problem on this one?

Seems like it could use ride height and alignment changes. GT Silver really is a great color for that car. Just needs an RS wing and deck-lid (of which I have one spare ... : )

Paul's back is healing fast - I'll bet he's early on the 2010 GT3 list!

GEESH Can I have it back???!!!!

Love the new wheels.

I am probably going to order a C2S with an aero package. I hope you guys
dont think I am a pouser but Given my new life I dont think the NEW GT3 is worth
the price diff. Also the ride will be better for my back. I am mid way through
physical therapy and stepping off the med train. Going to Ibuprofren and asprin.

Alex- remember me, Todd in Phoenix, 1st GT-610 car (now gone). I have an '04 GT3 with a pile of go fast goodies on its way to me (coming from NorCal). Will the above wheels mount up to a 996 GT3? The car I'm getting has 19"s on it and I want to go 18".

I spec'd out a pretty ordinary C2S (basically just PDK and full leather, LSD) and the delta to the GT3 (starting at $112 - $87) seemed pretty much a bargain especially if you count depreciation more than up-front capital outlay.

When the PDK cars first came out I told the sales guy I couldn't afford it -- hell, I could barely justify the GT3! It took a minute to gain the concession that the 50% depreciation on '07 Carreras was far worse than the 20% on '07 GT3s.

'09 C2S $87,000
leather, $3600
seats $400
exhaust $2500
Chrono $1320
PDK $4100
LSD $1000

$99,945

Give or take leather on both cars or adding the aero appearance to the (which nets zero resale value) I think once you're burning $100K on a 911, go the whole hog man! Can't you just imagine the joy of waking up to nose-lifting and wobbly engine mounts or the joy of feeling SC quietly retrieve the rump of the car from terminal oversteer?

I rest my case sir!

cool, you bought my bud's car.
yes, if those wheels have correct 997gt3 offset, it will fit 996gt3, you may need small spacers. but alex can confirm that.
