Default Need a medical update on "Old Guy"

Paul:

How are you doing. Have not seen a update on your recovery in almost a week. Trust all is well. Got the word today that my Carrera S went on a ship last week so there is still hope for the end of this month. Jack

everything is well. Only thing is somedays I have whole bunches of energy and other days I just need to sleep and rest. Today I was in sleep mode. I am having a rapid recovery according to the nurse. I may not be on the football field any time soon but its going really well. I am working on some RC helicopters they are very intense to fly. AND I drove my car for the first time this morning to take my son to school.
It was raining so I had to play it close to the vest. The scar is kind of funning looking. Its a 1/2 inch above my crack so it looks like I have the longest butt crack in the world.

Oldguy,

I've resisted posting as to your situation, but I am glad all is well with you.

I too am in line for imminent back surgery. In may case it will not be non-invasive labroscopy, rather, full open back surgery. Were you fortunate enough to have a non-invasive approach?

For me, I'm virtually unable to enjoy my GT3 in any shape or form at this point, much less life. Just looking to your input here (and I'm just a tad older than you, btw). Such are the vagaries of the athletics of youth.

That's great news! Extremely glad to hear things are well! Praying for a continuance of good health!

Carnernd thanks
Wayward email me and I will tell you my whole story from the pain to the
drugs to the doing nothing for a year to finally deciding that I need the full monty,
open back surgery. But it only took 2 hours and I am in better shape than if
I would have had shoulder surgery or knee surgery. Its easier than I ever imagined.
Really. Had I known this I would have had it 2 years ago.

Another one who has been quietly awaiting "your return." Glad to hear the progress. Those back things can go lots of ways, but your early progress makes it sound like yours is going the best way.

We'll get you back in a 911 yet.

Godspeed,

pete

P.S. Wayward, wish you could have been there at the top of Tam when I snapped that pic in your avatar. Seeing it here is evocative for me -- takes me right back to a warm summer night and that tall California golden grass. And that 993... Man, it was the best 993 I ever drove.

... or go buy your silver GT3 back. You can probably get it for less than they paid you for it!
