Do you really think he doesn't know what a dry sump is or isn't ??

He knows what each are...I don't think he knows whether or not the MkII will be true dry sump or not.

I would ask him first if the new A91 engine is destined to go into the GT2/3 and Turbo for sure.

If he says yes, ask him if it will be converted to a true dry sump as engines in the past for those models had and what other modifications will the engines have like Titanium rods or Nikasil cylinder inserts as before.

re modifications: autoweek reported (7/08) "the A91 (3.8) set for the GT3 will receive a number of internal revisions over the engine used in the 911 Carrera S, including lightweight pistons and other unique components - all aimed at reducing reciprocating masses" (sic) ...

More details of the "unique components" are of interest...

More importantly I would remind/let him know that we in America want the lightweight ultra performance cars and don't want them with sunroof! As close to "ROW" as possible. If Ferrari can do it with their challange stradale/scuderia variants, so can Porsche...

Yes, and I wouldn't limit that just to the GT models. We should be able to get any 911 without a damn sunroof.

^^ My point exactly...it's not like they don't produce non-sunroof cars.

I don't think they have a choice on the Cayman because of the smaller bubble roof. The Z4 Coupe is the same, and both of these cars are based on their convertible siblings.

Isn't the Miata a convertible?

ML 350 I know nothing about.

Umm...just a reminder hardcore guys - not everyone wants sunroof delete on their Gt3. I love mine for cool days and evenings, and likely would pass on the car if it didn't have it.

Let's be frank - Porsche made it lightweight metal and minimial - if you need that 4 lbs back you can skip a few desserts Seriously, it's a street car.

Now, excuse the OT, any news...?
