Eleven (11) GT3rs on ebay
Eleven (11) GT3rs on ebay, and as a group, appear to be holding their values relatively well, all things considered.
GT3rs and Ford GT seem to be insulated for the time being.

I dont know that they are holding their value. Chris knows I just wrote about this earlier. 8 weeks ago
std. GT3s were selling at MSRP. now they arent. Right now RSs are selling at MSRP. 8 weeks ago
RSs were still above MSRP. I think the whole market has moved south collectively. If it were to continue
RS's will be less than todays prices in 8 weeks.
I havent plotted this but I will say I think the depreciation curve is less however.

it looks like 2009 will see most to all 07-08 RS's selling (and perhaps listed) for less then MRSP......
however depreciation still has been at a slow rate even with the current economy factor...

I don't know about holding their value. You always see the same one on ebay being relisted. They don't sale, not like they use too and most of them put a lower "buy it now price" after a while.
There is a big difference between asking price and what they sell for.

If you don't drive them, they are still worth over MSRP.

When/If a mkII is announced, low mile cars will be under MSRP.
Unfortunately, many of the used ones are loaded with options.

RS are trading hands (actual sales) at msrp - $5k over in private sales.
these are cars less than 5,000 miles.
if you drove more than that, they can be had lower than MSRP.
do not use my old car as a gauge. it was a very different RS than anything out there.
very high mileage (for RS) and very low msrp to begin with.
it was sold slightly under msrp in less than 12 hours to a friend.

If your car has dropped 20% in value in the last 10 months..... then that has been a good investment compared to most folks stock or bond portfolios. Munis alone were down 18% this month. Even Buffet is down about 43%.
So guys you get to drive the car as well! Cheers.

Supply build-up precedes price correction. The degree to which price corrects is predicated upon demand levels. I'd say the RS market at MSRP or above has seen it's day but as mentioned above, it's not an investment...it's a depreciating asset so go out and drive the damn things.

cars depreciate as soon as they drive off the lot. But as far as the RS goes, its depreciation factor has been very slow when compared to most other cars.
Like Mooty said, cars with under 5000 miles still sell at MSRP, whereas higher milage are starting to sale below MSRP.
Very impressive car with a very impressive depreciation factor since 2007.
It is too bad people are not driving them more.......
I wonder where these cars will be in value 30 years from now? Is it really worth hangin onto without using it vs. enjoying on the road and track?
Hmmnn?
