Hmmnn?

if one wants to hang on to it for 30 years.
here is the recipe.
drive the **** out of it.
send it back to porsche to restore it.
then you can sell it for big profit.

My ROI with the RS is the fun factor. 2 seasons of autocross with 60 plus events and 2 track days last year. Car has a little over 12,000 miles on it. IP division season champion with NER and NCR and a few FTDs = priceless.

- how can you possibly not "drive" one of the greatest drivers cars ever created
- 33,000kms, 30 track events, 6 sets of brake pads, 4 sets of rims, 6 sets of tires, 6 alignments, winter tires to keep the car alive during north east winters (driven occassionally on dry days but there was this one day that i worked on my rally driving / alignment / sway bar setting in the neighbourhood)
- 2 spins at VIR turn #1 on cold tires
- 3 serious rain days at Mosport with r888s with the track sometimes to myself (slow in fast out with the tail wagging - oh and there was the turn #8 90mph drift with about 50 corrections that was scary / awesome)
- dynoed the car 4 times (yes a cell light comes on but all is ok)
- pulled over 4 times by cops and never a ticket (knock wood)
- taught my 16 year old cousin to drive in the parking lot of Mosport (his first ever time - he kept stalling it)
- drove home from calabogie to toronto with almost no rear pads and i never touched the brake pedal (try that)
- during one session at Watkins there were 15+ gt3s (cups, 996, 997s) all "playing" - porsche should have made a commercial about it
- have given so many hot laps at mosport to people i don't even know

every time I show up to the track, the other guys always comment on how nice my car looks with the tire rubber streaks all over the front end...

just in case anyone forgot what got us excited to buy the car in the first place...

All I can say is: This is the only 911 RS with a wide body, instant collectible.

They should make more (with less weight and another 85 Hp).

The original 73RS was a widebody compared to the non-RS 911 of its day (and 73RSR was even wider)...

Well, a 73 RS looks narrow body to me, a 73 RSR looks wide body to me. a 911 Turbo always looked wide body to me (even the ugly 996 TT).

This butt doesn't look wide to me:

This one does:

and so is this one:

Understood, but the 73RS rear flares are significantly wider than the ones on a 73 911S.

Just like bonds in the current market...only time you take the hit is when you need to sell.
