A club Sport for the Cayman and Carrera would be great, ala 964 RS America.
Stripped from everything with LSD, no options. I'd buy it!

Default Porsche reboot

Errr...996 GT 3. Calgary GT 3
What I failed to make clear in my earlier post is that the car should be a basic, quality sports car, priced at under $35,000. Porsche can do this, and it seems to me that BMW has had good success building cars in this price bracket. Their new 1 series (which admittedly I haven't researched), appears to be a sensation.

And it wouldn't hurt Porsche's reputation one bit.

But I'm sure the folks in the board room have hashed this over many times.

i waste plenty of $ on cars.
but let's face it, $35k for a quality sports car? where have you been lately. have you priced out a prius or an accord? those are approacing $35k. i hate it, but that's the market.

the 1 series is not 35k with a few options.

if porsche can make a lwt, sports car for 60k, i be doing back flips all day.

look at lotus. an exige 240 is 70k+....

dont you also want a stronger gearbox and engine?

otherwise, you can have it today.
base zero option cayman s is just below 60k (for a new car, that's pretty good bargain, again, think of a v6 accord at 30k). you can buy caymans at 1000 above invoice all day. $3000 buys you a paul gurad LSD, that IS the BEST LSD period money can buy. so there you go.

above so called caymans club sport is not much more than msrp of RSA, that's pretty good at holding prices for 10+ years.

Thanks Der Tub. I appreciate it. I hope some of my SoCal buddies come visit. I will be in marina Del Ray hospital for 4 days. The last 2 days I will be bored stiffless I assume. I will spend alot of time thinking about what Porsche could offer me to get me back in the fold.
