What about getting a 6 GT2 and putting 50k into it? You're right around RS price range there with something that will easily keep up with a 7 GT2 if not beat it.

To some this may not matter, but what would the resale value of such a car be? I can see removing some weight and doing some bolt on mods that can easily be reversed, but with 50K that sounds pretty serious.

Of course a 3.8 conversion would be the same on a 7 GT3 and would pose problems come resale time.

I guess we also need to wait and see where the 7 GT2 prices go in the future. I would think that it will do much better than the 6 GT2 because of production number lessons learned by Porsche (I hope); but if it does the same as the 6, then I think is just best to wait and pick up a certified car in a couple of years for maybe $130 to $140K ?????

Some answers to your questions:

http://www.roadandtrack.com/article....rticle_id=6939

Unfortunately they f$%#ed up by not even aligning properly the GT2! My guess is that the GT2 it would have been close to the fastest at the AutoX and tighter track (it clearly has the power!).... while Dodge shows up with their own mechanic!

THe GTR continues to shine (It has to have more power than what's claimed IMO), but the most impressive is the LP560/4. If one could only remove the AWD and make it a RWD car it would be truly amazing...

Yup, I read that too and was very impressed with the Lambo.

Ok, maybe 50k was a bit excessive. But with how Rad modded his last 6 GT3 (~30K) i'd think he wouldnt be so worried about the resale. Especially considering he sold it at an extremely good price. I'm pretty sure with 30k you could still get it done well enough to take on a 7 GT2 with no problem.

Sort of interesting to say the least. While the ACR guys adjust compression, rebound and tire pressures on the full spec MPSC, the GT2 was left with the stock alignment (and we know they come messed up on the alignment from the showroom).

We know the GT2 doesn't have the full spec MPSC as the Viper does. The 7GT2/GT3 MPSC are closer in performance to the Pirelli Corsa, rather than the full spec MPSC.

The LP560/4 had Ceramic brakes and race compound Pirelli Corsa tires, but still impressive. If Lamborghini applies the Superleggera treatment to the LP560/4, that car will be very nice. In the meantime such version of the LP560/4 is probably 2 years away.

By the way, I found a brand new Superleggera under $200k, unfortunately it will depreciate faster than a Hyundai.

I wonder where the F430 Scuderia could have come in that comparison

$30K? either you missed a zero to the right, or you meant the annual upgrade budget.

mod cost is what your estimate is X2.5. you do this long enough you will agree with me.

current msrp for moton is 4800
monoball upper 1000
spring and tender 1000 (rounded up)
labor, corner bal (1000)
you will need new drop link (1000 rounded up)
tax (500 rounded down)
that's about 10k and all you have is just suspension, and this doesn't include dog bones and such.

if you want some re-gearing done with guard LSD and maybe a LWF with stouter pressure plate that's another 10k min.

i am JUST AT THE TIP of the ice berg. i can easily add another 80k

Jerry's list of upgrade parts in his car was more expensive than the car itself.

For the GT2: $30k on the suspension, $12k on the transmission, $10k on powerkit, $10k on wheels/tires/pads/lines/battery. I have the parts needed with current prices. Close to $70k. Most of the labor is free as I can do it myself.

BTW, how do you spend 30k on the suspension?

Motons & springs, control arms, dog bones, toe links, sways, thrust arm bushing, monoballs and uprights. Does this really add to 30k? I had all of this on my Turbo with the exception of uprights and lower control arms and the parts w/o labor were around 12k...
