Right now I'm "suffering" on 19" PSCups (Volks) from the 997S, which are really PS2s in disguise. Next up I'll run R888 to try those out - a buddy that ran them next to me at Lime Rock in another 997S got about 0.2 G more in lateral and braking force than my PS2s or PSCs could muster.
Not sure if you can fit properly the 19" wheels from the 997S into the GT3 (different offsets). Seriously consider running RA1s instead of R888. I prefer them a lot more and in my Exige S I think RA1s (shaved) are faster than the R888.

The PSCups (the real ones on front) are always a good choice too, but can get dicey in cold conditions or first lap out. I might stick to PSC in the GT2 since the other tire choices (that can be driven to the track) don't have a wide tire that fits the GT2.

When are you planning on going to WGI?

We use Traqmate integrated with the Chasecam PDR-100. With the new software and the proper cable the data is synchronized with the video, so you can analize the telemetry data while looking at the video too.

Group 52 is a Private Open Track group. Only 52 drivers for two full days at The Glen. Track is open from 8:30am to 4:30pm, with a break from 12-1pm for lunch.
The format is open track, free passing. Only rule is the pass is responsibility of the faster driver and the slower driver stays on the racing line (optional to signal and move off line). Admission is by invitation and referral from a member.

Hey Ron, Nice to see your new beauty. Congrats. You may recall, we met @ Dan's CVR meeting. I had the Black 3 there.

Thanks again everyone. What a whirlwind several days. Drove to VA with the 997S on Thursday, took delivery that night, drove home in the GT3 on Friday, packed for the Glen Saturday, Drove there Sunday, on track Monday and Tuesday... I'll post more later, but MAN what a machine!!! Far exceeded even my wildest expectations and I'm no novice to track driving.

P.S. The Volks from the 997S fit the GT3 nicely - they are both narrowbody. The offset difference is because Porsche "oversized" the rear wheel to 12". The Volks I have are 8.5" front (same that Tire Rack sells for both), and 11" rear (which is a great fit for the 305) vs. 12" rear. The 305 PS2s I have on the OEM 12" wheels are stretched - I wonder why they went with a wider than needed (and thus heavier) wheel... I checked TireRack online and see the 11" wide has a 62mm offset, while the 12" has a 65. So there's 13mm more width on each side of the center, meaning the outside of the 11" wheel is 10mm closer to the car than the 12". But, the same 305 tire for either wheel looks to me to fit so much better on the 11" wheel - not stretched. Not sure what, if any, performance difference there is between a 305 on the 11 vs. 12, but what a difference (good) when I changed from OEM to Volk at the track - like I had 20 more horses and better brakes. Well, that's what you should feel when losing so much wheel weight.

No more events for me until early September, but will post on DE / Racing as we get closer...
