Default 997 GT3RS CLUBSPORT/techquipment CAGE?

in germany, do they offer the bolt in "clubsport" full cage for GT3 and GT3RS?

I notice that the half cage is available in north america. so what about the full cage?

I believe the 996 clubsport had the option of a full and half bolt in cage in europe.

any knowledge of a "clubsport" option for european 997?

This has been covered in the early days. A bit of searching and you'll probably uncover threads and links on the variables of cars that arrived with the weld plates done or the complications of doing the cutting and welding yourself.

Keep in mind the Tequipment design tends to limit the rearward travel of the seat for taller drivers. And the bar itself seems overly "cluttered" to my eye with bolts and joints in all directions. I'd say look at DAS and get a four point bar in cro-mo.

Thanks for clearing that up for me, mate. What can I tell you? "The truth is out there." You might have to search a little harder, I know it's a needle in a stack of needles and there's more than one forum site with a wealth of accumulated information on the GT3s since '99. I see you're working in all lower case -- that should help. : )

looks like a complete clubsport can be bought new in europe and sent to north america.
rennsport, autopower, CMG, custom cages in england, and im sure others are out there all look fine too.

however i would like to stick with a porsche part.

i require a 6 point for tarmac rallying, and i didnt want to fab a custom cage or put in an aftermarket.

trying to keep the gt3 pure porsche.

my only other option would be a body in white cup tub.

Are you keeping this going in two threads for a reason?

As for a body in white, that would require a friendly race team to help you acquire one, which I thought were only available pre-season, but it would be great to get one, though I hate to think what they'd charge these days and what it would cost to build it up to a roller. The last time I saw a race car being built it was TRG working from stock Carreras off the showroom (for their ALMS cars a year or two back?)

Anyway, where's this road rally racing? Doesn't sound like a USA thing.

A guy here just took delivery of a RS with full cage from factory. As Mooty pointed out in the other tread, it's not a real full-cage since it lacks the door/knee part. Anyway, he decided to take out the front part of it and leave the rear half-cage.

thanks guys..... im learning so much over such a short time using this forum.....really awesome

i have also looked at other threds and asked there too. Im getting everything i need to know before i build a gt3 for tarmac rallying in newfoundland canada.

we had a ruf gt3 here a few years ago after it won the one lap of america. Had the intergrated cage. very nice.

For targa a door and knee bar is not required, however a 6 point cage is. Thus i would like a clubsport which i now know i can get. it would be perfect.

i was looking to do an older cup car for the race, but since i now know i can get a clubsport for a gt3 street car clean and tidy, it gives me more options to build a car that i can use on the street, track and targa all on pump gas and keep it for many years with flexabilty of resale and use.

sweet.....

+1 THANK YOU.

Me too, this forum and the general knowledge base on P cars is a big reason for me to get one. Most other cars you are pretty much on you own for open track days.

I have a similar cage in my cars now (Drive almost every day.) and I am trying to decide if I will just get the roll bar or full cage, thanks for the link, now I know the price and 954 are code is 10 minutes from home.

Buy it.

Paint it.

Put it in your car.

there are some good pictures here:

http://www.gt3rsregistry.com/2007GT3...RoW/Mobile.htm

I would like to know how the front section is bolted to the car, down by
or on the floor. Did the factory install mounting plates for this purpose?

In the USA, only early 2007 GT3 RS got factory rear cage mounting plates.

Here are pictures:

http://www.gt3rsregistry.com/2007GT3RS/vin/2366.htm

http://www.gt3rsregistry.com/2007GT3RS/vin/2529.htm

Later in production, P AG stopped installing them in GT3 RS destined for the USA.
Late 2007 and all 2008 USA GT3 RS do not have the rear cage mounting plates.

Maybe ZBB0730 could check under his front carpet...
