I will keep that in mind! All I have to do is find a reasonably priced RS!

That's what I'd do ... shame about the alternating stitching ...

I'll let you know what Palo Alto Speedo say about gauge changes ...
I think they either do a "core exchange" or you have to send "your" speedo
back to them for the change ... either way pulling the dash/speedo is I think
somewhat labor intensive!

What's reasonable? I'll keep an ear to the ground.

I asked Palo Alto Speedo:

"Is it possible to replace/change color of the gauge faces on a 2007 997 GT3, and retain the
GT3 logos etc?"
here is their response...

I am sorry but we will not be able to help you with the dial conversion for the 2007 997 GT3. I would suggest to try Rhonda at www.fvdusa.com . Perhaps she can help you, or lead you in the right direction. Other than FVD USA I am not sure who to recommend you to, sorry. What we could help you with is the installation only, not the dials. If you find dials and want them installed let us know.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

I looked on PET, I dont see either the dials themselves listed as a separate part # nor the instrument cluster listed with color alternatives ... I suspect that this then is a pure "exclusive" factory option ...

therefore I think you may need to order a complete new inst cluster and replace it ...

frankly I dont blame you ... red gauges in a blue car ... Uugh ...

Hope this helps!

That's what I was thinking. It actually looks like the PET does have the red enameled ones as well, on the next page. Hmmm, wonder where the digital odometer info is stored - in the gauge itself or in the DME? I'll have to figure out whether they'd be plug and play or not.

I missed that on PET, however it does look like FVD *do* alternative colored faces ... checkout their website, $1013 a pop! ... although I am not sure if those are generic 997 or GT3 ... sadly I think they are generic ...

I dont think you should worry about that issue, dealers must have to replace inst clusters in cars, so they will have the ability to transfer the info if in fact the data is stored in the cluster or not ...
