Default WTB - Cobalt Blue 997 GT3

Please PM about any you may have for sale or know of.

I would prefer PCCBs, low-option car, and no full leather but will consider all.

Thanks in advance,

charlie don't rule out full leather- it's the alcantara in the GT3 and amazing. Also- smashing color choice. I had the cobalt and loved it.

I thought you had the alcantara without the full leather? I want the alcantara.

I am in love with cobalt - I think it's a great color on all 997s and especially striking on the three!

it's called "full leather" but on the GT3 it's the full alcantara...it's fantastic. my 3 had the red stitching too...

anyhow- there are a few guys on here with cobalt ones, including a guy in florida who had his for sale a while back (check the archives from feb)

Leith Porsche in Cary, NC (Raleigh area) has a used 2007 Cobalt GT3 if interested. Here is a link to the car on their website.

I've seen that car, thanks. They're asking too much of a premium for a car with that I don't want.

Yeah, I don't get it either. It seems like prices are going up on these cars; at least at the dealers (not really a surprise though; I should say the greed is increasing). The RS are still outrageous with a white one going for $214K on Ebay, and Scottsdale has a Speed Yellow regular GT3 with a ton of options and used for $159K and it is now showing sold! I'm sure they didn't get anywhere near $159K (OK, I'm not sure, but I hope no one paid that much), but still! And as OG mentioned 1 or 2 weeks ago, he saw a couple used (I believe) regular GT3's at dealers with a $149K asking price.

At the beginning of the year I was used to seeing 90% of the used GT3's somewhere in the $120K's; usually in the upper range.

Also, last time I checked RS's on Ebay, besides the white one, the rest were either orange or black.

Just for fun, and perception (not what you like, but what you think is in demand) of the hottest RS colors; I rate them from hottest to least in the following order, although I love every single one of them:

white
green
orange
black
silver

I also like Cobalt for any 997 and agree that the 3 is the best of all. But I can tell you another little secret, in case you didn't know, the 3 looks better than any of the 911 models regardless of the color. With the combonation of the "aero kit" and the much lower ride height, the rest of them look kind of ridiculous in some cases, even like miniture SUV's because they sit way to high and have funny looking gaps between the fender and the wheels. Look at a Cayman without PASM (which drops any porsche another 10 mm) next to a GT3 sometime and the Cayman will start to look extremely ridiculous and you might be afraid of rolling the thing if you drove it too fast in a corner!

The turbo looks good because it has the body work front and back and comes standard with PASM, but it still is not as clean as a GT3/RS, IMHO.
