Toying with the idea of selling my Orange RS
I am ONLY THINKING about this right now. I just want to determine what my car would sell for IF - BIG IF - I decided to sell my 07 RS.
It is Orange, has under 2000 miles. Options are:
PCCB, Gear lever trim in orange, GT3 RS logo on storage cmpt lid, floor mats.
Total MSRP $136,690.00
It has 996 GT3 seats and an orange DasSport bar.
I also have steel rotors for track and Pagid RS19 pads (997 Cup rear rotors and AP Slotted floating hat fronts)
It also has the Sharkwerks exhaust - sounds sweet!
I also have 2 sets of Fikse Profil 5S (black anodized)
The seats, harnesses, roll bar, and wheels could go with it or sell seperately.
What is the going price right now?
Again, I am ONLY thinking about it. I really love the car - my favorite Porsche street car ever - but I feel like I don't use it enough. I have the cup car for club races and de's. I have taken the car to DE's and it is really impressive, but .... is it worth it?
I don't drive it enough on the street as it is. It seems pointless anyway. It wants to go, not putt around town. And I only have so much time anyway.... And money is a little tighter these days too.
Thoughts?

the car is really meant to be driven to the track, around the track, and home again. I can see how having a cup car makes it a bit redundant...I'd love to have a second RS myself...similarly low optioned too.

i think 25k over msrp if the car is stock.
the mods, you can just add on the price.
periodically i think of the same thing (selling that is). the orange car isn't even parked at my garage most of the time. it's off site. i think i bought one too many GT3's hahhaa..
and chk your PM

Mooty - what's going on? I hear that you are planning to sell the 996 GT3, and now you are thinking of selling the pumpkin? I am not a doctor, but I am going to make a citizen's diagnosis that you have ADD!
Seriously, I drool over your garage (except for the rats).... What other cars could be more compelling for track toys/weekend drivers?
And to GT3Nut - I have enjoyed your posts over the years on the 996 GT3 forum, and now that you have a 996 Cup for the track and are thinking of getting rid of the 997 GT3 RS it begs the question - what will you drive ont he street to chill out after a long week at the office? Will the Ducati become your primary therapy on wheels?
(On that note - I am SO tempted to add a Ducati Monster to the track garage. I secretly got my motorcycle license a few years back. The wife will never know!)

Sell it. You can always find another one later. Especially if you already have a Cup car, there is a bit of redundancy if you don't drive the RS on the street. I sold my white GT3 for the same reason - it wasn't going to be street driven much, nor track driven much.

i dont really want to sell 996gt3, but if anyone willing to pay me 85k, yes, they can have it ;-)
well, no rats now.
EMBARRASSINGLY, the rat was ME with OCD.
i put down lots of poison and traps, no kills.
there were ZERO rat poop anywhere, i sweep the garage floor every weekend as part of OCD and never saw poop.
also, i never had rats so why all of a sudden.
then the damage in the wire was limited to a very small area.....
an area INSIDE the engine bay, that i just WAXED.... (yes, i wax there too)
i remembered my micro fiber towel was caught right at that corner, where the wiring as at.... the CEL came up after my detailing.... so i think it was I who damaged the wire.

you better first invest in a good mattress for the track garage just in case your wife finds out about the "non-existent" motorcycle license.

Mooty - we have much in common... I struggle with the Cup questions as well, and have often ventured that Leprechans are stealing from my track budget. I mean where else could the money be going????
Futon is on order at IKEA btw...
