Try a pure canuba wax called Collinite. It is not expensive and not easy to put on or wipe off but works well and makes my wife's arctic silver C2 look three dimensional. Been using this wax for many many years. Can be found on the internet. Produced in upstate New York.

It's exactly the reason I went for Arctic Silver.....

I think you'll have a tough time getting GT silver to have any depth

Ask Phil at Detailer's Domain. He is a board sponsor here. Send him a PM, or post on the Concours board under Perf. & Comp. to get his attention. I am sure he will be glad to assist.

I dont think Porsche would have invented a signature color for the Carrera GT what was a non poping shallow color. When I got my car and the Dealer detailed it it looked plenty deep and It popped. I just havent waxed it lately
The problem with Artic silver is I dont like the brown tint. Polar is a blue tint and to me prettier. However
GT silver. Thats just me opinion and if I had a chance for an artic RS I would have jumped all over it.

I've had tremendous success with Chemical Guys M Seal topped with their 50/50 paste wax. It offers the "pop" of a synthetic with the depth of a carnauba.

For maximum flake with the slickness of a synthetic, Optimum Optiseal has worked great for me as well.

Make sure you're doing proper paint prep by clay barring your car and doing any paint correction if necessary.

Here's an inexpensive ($6.99) over the counter product that makes the finish pop: Mother's FX Spray Wax (the spray, not the regular FX Syn-Wax). It's best used as a booster for your main coat (lasts about 3 weeks, give or take), but it's as easy to apply as a quick detailer and does make a noticeable difference. I haven't tried it over a carnauba, but it works well over just about any sealant.

If you don't mind spending more, then Zaino Z8 ($20 per 16oz.) is really nice, arguably the best of its kind. Works the same way as FX and is just as easy to use (it does last a bit longer than FX, however). Use sparingly, it is very concentrated.

These two products are applied to a clean surface, of course.

As far as the main coat products that make the finish/flake pop, here's a few to try: Jeffs Werkstatt Acrylic Jett (though, it does darken the color slightly); Collinite 845; Zaino Z2 Pro (over Z-AIO).

Over at Autopia it is generally accpeted that P21S is is the best for metal flake and silver. I have it on my arctic 997s cab and my silver R8, and they look fantastic. Serious pop.

This all presumes that you have properly prepared the paint with a good polish. P21 paintwork cleanser first is a good start for paint in good condition.

Optiseal is another good one for silver, it is a ful synthetic. Slightly more gloss, more plasticy look, less depth and wetness, good for six months though.

I've been pleased with Zaino Bros. multi-step, cross-linked polymer process. I've done four cars now and can't go back. Time consuming (5-6 hours per car) for the initial applications, but great results. They have detailed instructions on their web site, but the steps are:
1) Dawn dish soap,
2) clay bar,
3) Dawn dish soap again,
4) Z-AIO for foundation,
5) then Z-2, Z-3 or Z-5 Pro Show Car Polish (depending on your car's paint - I use Z-5) with ZFX accelerator added to the polish,
6) Z-6 detailing spray,
7) same as 5,
8) same as 6,
9) same as 5,
10) same as 6 or use Z-8 instead,
No more than three applications of polish/accelerator in 24 hours so it can cross-link and harden.
and 11) finish with Z-CS.
Forever after, wash with Z-7 and detail with Z-6 or Z-8
(I have no affiliation; I'm just a very satisfied, paying customer.)

This is about the best I can do on mine. This was don 3-6-08 after a really dirty drive the weekend before. In service date on car was Jan 06 so a little over 2 years old and about 12,500 miles. Clear bra on front so reflection different there.

I washed with PS 21 Car Wash

Clayed with Pinnacle clay and lube.

Rewashed with PS 21 Car Wash

Then Klasse All in One, Klasse Sealer Glaze and then a coat of PS21 Carnuba on top. Detailer guys can get them better but this is about the best I can do. All done by hand.

FMJ is a synthetic wax. Good for protecting the paint and lasting a long time but not the best for depth or pop. The carnauba's will be better for pop and depth but not last as long. I think swissvax or zymol are the best out there. Phil at www.detailersdomain.com or Moe at www.glisteningperfection.com can help you out. I think both are board sponsors.
