Those who bash the 987 have never driven one...great car. Personally I wouldn't have opted for the red interior.

Many people don't realize, but this RS60 car is setup in that color scheme because of the original car (Spyder) that had the same color combo!

Black Mats and a Black Top would do wonders for that thing.

The Boxter is a great car, no doubt. But honestly, it is a ladies Porsche. At least the RS60 is manual, if not even a little flaming. sorry pal, but that's my $.02 which you did ask for...

the only way to get the red interior is with red top, the red interior is awesome, the car is not gay, anyone who thinks it is has not heard its exhaust note

That color combo on a CGT would draw nothing but compliments. I think it looks great, but the wheels are a bit feminine in styling. Swapping to a more aggressive spoked wheel would be the finishing touch - I'm thinking something on the lines of some Kinesis Supercups, BBS LM's or whatnot.

Kevin:
I need to figure out a way to get to SLO! We have four tracks within a just over two hours but we dont have hills and it is hot for eight months. We do have a lot of water and that would be missed.

Eckou:
I am lowering the car late this week and I will post pictrues and see how that changes things. I kinda like the wheels?

I like the car, but it looks best in top down form. I like that color combo in the f430 as well. all red tail lights are nice. tell your wife to buy the family a F250 diesel so you can feel manly from time to time lol.

FWIW- all the gay guys I know drive automatics. maybe they're tired of shifting at home.

but seriously, the red interior is something not everyone likes- I happen to like it, but I also like mexico blue, RS green, RS orange, cobalt blue, flat black, polar silver, and other funky colors.

Default Comment from a 986'r

From a Boxster owner, so… take it as you will.
It makes me laugh when guys who are already "on our side" make comments about the Boxster’s perceived stigma.
Were you picked on “that” much in gym class? You reek of compensation. Get a grip.

Honestly, with the red color top up, the RS60 is really a little bit flamboyant.

However, if you want to 'man' it up, try to play with the idea of a set of bold wheels, and it might help to 'theme up' the flamboyant red into racing red.

Just to play with ideas -- try a set of flat black, thick spoke, red lip wheels. The flat black gives a bad-axx look, while the red lip linkers the racing feel to the red top. I have seen this combination in a show car, and it was surprisingly cool.

Frankly, the RS60 is more like a marketing theme than a real historic reborn, so don't be afraid to put some modern looking wheels on it. Worst case, keep the original Sport Design wheels and switch them back as you like.

Just a thought,

With best regards,
