Question Is Boxster RS60 Syder Really Gay

I posted this on the Boxster site but thought you guys may be more help
I just got a Boxster RS60 Spyder with a red top and red interior. My wife told me that it looked like a gay hair dressers car. I am not sure if she was insulting me, hair dressers or gays. maybe all but I am afraid it was just me. I think the car looks great but am now wondering. i obviously need help or maybe just need to fess up?
Thanks in advance?!?

Pics? I don't think I've seen one with a red convertible top.

EDIT: Nevermind, I found one here http://www.autoblog.com/photos/porsc...dition/695127/. Well I can't say that I care for the red top, but it doesn't look effeminate or anything. I do like the red interior.

Funny you should ask! I was considering one myself, but just can't totally get over all of the red in the interior. I mean, even the steering wheel is red. I asked my wife, "will this car make me look gay"? For what it's worth, she said that it wouldn't. Sounds like your wife disagrees though.

I personally think it is a classic look (although I would probably have broken up the red with some black).

Many call the Boxster a hairdresser's car, and the red top is a little flamboyant, so you do the math

but no seriously, I think it's a classic throwback look that fits the car well. There were a bunch of RS60s at the 12hrs, and they're good-looking cars.

It may be historic, but she's right, it looks gay. Just my opinion. But, if you like it, get it, the only opinion that counts is yours.

My wife thinks my orange RS looks stupid, so what do women know?

Ask the Porsche folks from the United Kingdom, they order a lot of wild color combinations.

Maybe the interior is a little red. The wife of a friend told me she loved my new red car

I am leaning toward your wife's assessment, but I still would not let her dirve it if that's the way she feels about it.

Enjoy it!

Come on man, be strong! Do YOU like it? That is all that matters! If you like it, drive it and enjoy it. Don't apologize to anybody!

Not that it matters at all......but I like it. I personally dig the retro connection!

Boxster's are such balanced cars. If i could afford a 6th car it would be a Boxster for my Daily Driver. Never apologize for any well thought out decision! Never!

Do you apologize for being successful?
Do you apologize for marrying well?
Do you apologize for having a whole bunch of hot cars?
...
...
....OK I am goin' fix this for you. I am coming to your house with a transporter and I am goin' take all of these burdens off your hands.

A true friend and we have never met. What a group. I really like the retro connection and that is what attracted me to the car. I was in the car business int the 70s when it seemed that every car was silver with red or maroon interiors and I got where I hated them. My wife knows this and also thinks this is funny.

Kevin:
I was just in SLO for the Tour of California. I think I would move there if not for family. You are a lucky man what a great spot.
