Alright, that's it; I'm selling my 3 and getting an R. The evidence is overwhelming. Every day there is another test of the GTR seemingly defying the laws of physics, and turning upside down so many of my beliefs. The GTR is superior to the GT3 in almost every aspect except the weight. I even read an article the other day proving that the GTR is better looking than the GT3. They used some mathematical formulas and proofs and other mathematical wizardry that proves that the GTR is more pleasing to the eye than the GT3. I minored in math guys; it all checked out.
And since the GTR is Japanese, it must be reliable, so we don't even need to address this last possible category where the GTR can lose points.
Where can I join Nissanlist? Or we can just use this site and change the name. Who’s with me?

What are these magical brake pads that are they using so that they don't get brake fade from a showroom stock car.
Is there any pad that can do both track and street well? In my experience you either get the car to squeal like a pig on the street or fade into oblivion after a few laps. Did Nissan discover something new?

I would rather track a GT3 than a GTR, but we need to get used to being beaten on the track by the big Nissan or get a 997 GT2. And even this latest and greatest 911 may soon be equalled on beaten by the GTR V-spec.
''Nissan has two very specific targets for the V-Spec. Firstly, its engineers are desperate to complete a lap at Germany’s Nürburgring in less than seven minutes and 25 seconds, to take the circuit record. And they are also keen to topple Porsche’s 911 GT2 and GT3 from the top of performance trackday wish lists.''

I would not sell my RS to buy one, but that doesn't mean that I wouldn't love owning one of these cars. I may just put my 930S up for sale since I rarely drive it anymore. I always love these "jumps in technology" that forces everybody else to catch up. A few that come to mind was the Honda CBR in the early 90ties, then Yamaha with R1 in 1998. It also takes away the ability of other manufacturers to charge an arm and a leg for items such as a real sequential (not tip tronic) on a high HP car. And instead of having to purchase a Tracmate, this car seems to have it build in. Not a ward on the dash that is basically a horribly functioning stopwatch.
I don't understand why we rag on some other car makes, instead of embracing the technology. A corvette Z06 is a great bang for the buck, carbon fiber panels everywhere, a monster motor with titanium rods just like ours, and lighter then my beloved RS. It still does not make me want one, but it forces our beloved Porsche to either keep their prices somewhat reasonable, or improve their performance.

To get passed by one on the track they should first show up there. Something tells me that the proportion of GTRs making it to the track is not going to be that high.
