I have to assume the tires were balanced correctly. I bought the tire/wheel package from John at CCW. But you know what they say about assume.
My next event is April 5-6 at Pocono. I'll mark the wheels/tires to see if the tires are spinning on the wheels. And, I'll try to run the car a little harder to take some wear off of the treads. Then I'll see if I notice a difference on the high speed bowl part of the course.

George,
It is likely from your tires. I felt the same thing with the r888 full tread. Not a good feeling under braking at 150. This should go away as the tires wear down. To confirm this try a MPSC or a Hoosier and you will not have any of this. I will try to have my next set of R888 shaved to 3/32.

What about the Nitto's ???
Anybody have experience with the Nitto tire ?

Shaving might be the answer.
I just can't see wasting half the life of a new tire at this time.
Maybe running a new set of tires on a short track for a while is the answer (??) .

george,
one suggestion is to take the oem wheels/tires with you to your next track event. drive on them for a session and see if the problem goes away. if not then you might want to recheck your car's setup (ride height and alignment). sometimes setup changes due to the suspension setting it or things changes during transport ...
when i had tires spinning on the wheels i would feel vibration at high speeds not side-to-side movement.

Good idea.
I'll try the OEM's.

4/32 to 3/32. Do not have anyone do this for you. Have a well not shop do it. Vilven, tireshop, Frisby... Do no use Radial Tire in MD (Paul). Shved a set for me and massacred them. Very uneaven and tire was way off balanced. Then started spinning on the rim. Made it even more off balanced. Blamed it on the wheels letting the tire spin. Were 9ounces off! I never could use these tires and my wife and I trashed a track week-end at the Glen because of this. He never recognize his fault and I had to get red of these tires! $1320 in the garbage! Ran many tires since then and never had this problem again: It was not from the wheel.

Do you shave all your new tires each time you buy them?
Are you shaving the MPSC, or which tire brand?
How many track days do you get with them shaved? (Assuming one driver... I know you have 2)
