My dad just retired so now I can spend more time with him. He isn't into the car thing much anymore, but he could use a new boat. It's time for him to be surrised.

It's been a long two month wait took Delivery Feb 8th then between travel and finding a good film installer finally finished last week.
Wanted to do the brakes right, it was an experience 2AM on a long stretch of three lane highway. Up to 60 mph then down to 10 which is like standing still on an Interstate flashers on etc. 3 reps of 15 then the high speed 120 to 10. The cars and tractor trailers were looking at me like I was some kind of wise *** or something in this bright orange Porsche speeding up slowing to a stop over and over.
Those instructions were helpful I can see for liability reasons why car companies won't advise that, can't wait to hear the full sound of this car and the change once lowered and aligned.

you can run it over 4k rpm- the engine is meant to mix and match revs! it's just not meant to be lugged at 1200rpms in 2nd and 3rd gear. I progressively increased the revs in 300-500 mile intervals and was at 6000 rpms before too long. Don't waste sunny days puttering when you can roar.

Make sure you get an 88/89 Turbo S if you go with the 944, stock suspension can be lowered. A world of difference, thats my dedicted track car at least until I sample the RS this summer. I will be selling one of mine just had the engine done, and in the shop now for a cosmetic repaint.
yeah I was going to send him to europe on one of those fall tours of the autobahn but life's too short- and he's looking to buy one for himself, but I'd like to get it him a decent one, maybe a turbo.
if I do the traqmate, I'll be tempted to go full out for the data system where it mates to the video too...and since I'm not really "racing" I don't see the point just yet.
Dan- if you want to leave the mount at Ruf, I can get it installed when I drop my car off. Oh and too bad there's not more of your car in the shot...we need a pick of our cars in the garage together.

easiest DIY ...
I installed my cup lip spoiler yesterday, it took about 2 minutes ... its the easiest DIY I have ever done on my car ...
it simply unclips and clips on ...

Was it really 2 minutes, or are you exaggerating just a bit? I seem to remember that it took me almost 4 minutes to do it, and I was hustling!

honestly it was SO quick, my existing spoiler wasn't even screwed on ... so I just pulled out the clips and inserted the new lip viola!
