i just did R6 yesterday. after 3 laps (from brand new, unheat cycled) you can go all out.
John - I tried the Hoosier R6's on Friday at THill. Awesome tire - much better balance between traction and power than with any other tire I've tried so far.

How were your lap times?
you were there friday but didn't stay for weekend?
i missed friday but was there weekend.
sunday, over the top of 5, i did 202 with hoosier on 996gt3, but most laps were 203 on hoosiers.
however, my last session i ran new R888 full tread.... 203.
R6 has better turn in feel and more consistent. but unless i can get it to 201 consistently, i will no run it in future. i had to coordinate a lot of stuff to get tires hauled to track.

My schedule only allows me to do a limited number of days. It would have been fun if you were there on Friday. It sounds like your 996 is faster than your RS. (or you are faster in it!)

i did 202 in RS with RA1.
so technically i am faster in the RS (except infineon, those walls scares me), but i do drive the 6 harder.
The information posted at TireRack.com on the Hoosier R6 is slightly different than the brochure I received when I got my tires there about a month ago. The recommendation on the website info is 38lbs to 43lbs hot.
