I have figured that out. I truck my bicycle to the top of a mountain and ride down. I can go pretty quick.

i do that too, i crashed out quick.
once i used my helmeted head as my brake to slow down. of course i smashed my head into a giant boulder. that explains all my irrational behavior of late.

Do any of you NorCal guys know Fremont Older in San Jose? Pretty tame place to mtn bike, but I used to ride there a lot after work on weekdays (had a Santa Cruz Heckler). One day in 2000 a bee flew in my helmet and stung me while I was going pretty fast downhill. Idiot that I am, I took a hand off the handlebars, for what purpose I don't know, causing me to crash and endo. I was pretty banged up. I now have a permanent C5/C6 neck injury that causes me all sorts of neurological pains from time to time.

Mountain biking rules, but it can hurt when it goes wrong. Damn bee!

Is mission peak the one out by Milpitas? I think I did that once. Demonstration Forest is tough too.

BTW, Fremont Older may be a bit lame, but it does have some fairly gnarly sections on the Stevens Canyon side.

i think mission peak is north of milpitas, maybe in fremont or there about. my sense of direction is pathetic. one time i took gas at cattleman city then proceeded NORTH bound on I5 thinking i will be in LOS ANGELES in 2-3 hours.... didn't notice the fk up until i 2 hours later, when i am back where i started....

but anyways, mission peak is boring but it's steep 4 miles up and 4 miles down.
yes, stevens canyon can get scary..

oh.. i was coming down railroad grade or was it hookoo i koo at marin. my face plate on the stem fell off .... i had the handle in my hands, not connect to the bike... i dont know how and why i am still alive today...
