george i think the pulleys are around 85 bucks. you still need the different washer and bolt... You also need the tensioner tool from Porsche. It's the 996GT3 one (about 500).

Yes you do; that was the main point of my post. If you have a regular GT3, and you want to go with the RS LWFW, then you need to do the whole shebang.

I have all my parts ready and waiting to be installed, but I am fairly certain that I want to change to a 4.0 ring and pinion.

I will also have the pulley checked and replaced if it is not the one used in the RS, and certainly I will have it retorqued and maybe use loctite as Alex recommended.

hey 340elise.. just got the message from last night. I'll try give you a call but whilst the 4.0 R&P sounds good... my concern is what happens on the freeway when you're driving "to" the track. Not sure I want to drive 2.5 hours at 4K rpms

I'm at 65mph @ 3K rpm.
