Default Tire Q for those who track

For those who drive to the track do you ever try to remove the semi-vulcanized rubber pick-up off your tires after a track outing??
On the way home, the car rides like a dump truck...

On the drive home try and scrub 'em hard. Some will come off and some will still stick.

Michelin Cups are the worst for this I find.

You go offline on a cool down lap and hey presto - thud thud bounce.

It does tend to fall off eventually.

Pisses me off when I've just spent $2000 on a new set of Cups and they look like that after a day on track!

wow that's some good work right there- your track must have a lot of grip with all that rubber laying around

scrubbing during cool down lap, when tires are still hot, will get most of it off.

once tires cool down, it's hard to pry off with your fingers. just drive for 200 miles or so, it will all be gone.

With all that build up on the inner tread, I think you might benefit from some camber adjustment

Cool down on line. Check to make sure your presure is not too high. Sport cups like 32-36 hot.

^+1. Cool down should be a prefect lap. I have seen guys use a paint scraper in the paddock.
