I have the single layer and I don't even know it is there. No one ever notices it either until I point it out. It helps with the little pit marks that you get on your windshield over time; I bet if I peel it off that it will be perfect. I also had a few hard hits on the winshield and you can see how it damaged the material, but it did not crack, or make a bullet type hit. It also looks like it did not get through the material, so I think even the bigger hits are clean underneath.

The single is only about $80.00 and well worth it to me. If you live in a state where you get some snow and they sand the roads in winter, and you drive your GT3 in the winter (after the snow has cleared), then I would recommend using it just during the winter months. You can then peel it off in the spring if you don't like it.

If you track your car, then I would get the 2-layer one so that you have a thicker barrier. The stuff from Protint that I have links to is excellent quality and I highly recommend it; no affiliation either.

I agree -- the windshield seems to attract flying debris like a magnet, for whatever reason. Has anyone tried a windshield ding repair and had good/excellent results?

Mine is really pitted so it's too late for any protection now.

I've found that its a good idea to carry $100 deductible comprehensive on your car, rather than $250 or $500. A new windshield then costs you only $100. The annual additional cost for the lower deductible usually is only a few dollars more.

This is a great thread! Thanks guys!

I really like the idea of the Quick Peel for track and if you know you are going to drive through a sandstorm (Khalid will know what I mean!). Has anybody here used it or seen it used before? How easy is it to remove and does it damage the paint?

Corsican, this is a film for the windshield and not the body. I sure know what you mean, we get a few of those down here as well.

Hi Khalid,

The original post was about the windshield film, but when searching ProTint's website, I came across the Quick Peel, which is a spray for the body of the car. It sounds pretty interesting, but I am worried it might peel off some of the clear coat when you remove it.

It could be an alternative to putting grease all over the front of the car when driving to Oman! I really don't want to do that!!!

There's a shop here that installs the Venture-Shield so I bet there's one in Dubai as well. I'd go for something like that instead of that Quick Peel stuff. I will also not put any grease or any of the materials in use here.
