Careful there grandpa. I lightly tuned STI could walk your Carrera S at less than half the price.

I have driven a 2005/2006 Sti, Evo IX and IX MR.

These cars are extremely impressive. They are not good looking, but they are fast, fun and actively safe. You get away with over driving.

They are the best reliable cars for the money.

Congrats!! STI's are so much fun and a tremendous bang for the buck.

Another point - You now own 2 cars with Boxer engines!

I run into numerous Evos & STIs at the track during the summer. With the usual mods and slicks, they are unbelievably fast and agile. Agreed, the driver's tend to be twenty-somethings.... but for the money, they offer one hell of a platform...

I have to ask. Do you track your car?

I bought my 996 GT3 with 1500 miles from a mortgage broker who was moving up to a F430
(I think he is driving a rabbit now) and his other car was a STI.

THe guy in town who leases printers to the government in town here has a STI he is 58.

Great cars for the money. I tracked a 6GT3 for a couple of years and now track and DD my 997S. There are usually always some modified Subies and Evos there and they are always good fun. The only caution I would have is if you track the car beware that their center of gravity is higher than the P-Cars. If there are accidents involving roll overs they tend to be the Evos and Subys. In my experience P-cars have been the least likely to go over.

Oh I will; I just havn't decided which one I will buy yet. If I go with a 240, then I expect to get it at a huge discount; and that will happen, just give it some more time. Or I might pickup a used low mileage 2005 Elise and intall the BWR suprcharger!

OK, good to hear! In that case, I guess it's o.k. that you picked up the STI, too....

+10! Always loved the STi, especially in blue pearl. Everytime I drive my friend's '06, I think about how much I spent on my 997S.

The amount of performance and fun is amazing with a mainstream sedan price tag.
