Depending on where you track I advise you to check to be sure that a modified exhaust will not get you black flagged for excess noise. Tracks are getting very fussy about this. Limerock, Laguna and my home track, Le Circuit Tremblant have imposed stringent noise limits. A 997 GT3 with a stock exhaust will be sent home at Laguna Seca. A 997 Gt3 with an aftermarket exhaust will not pass as Limerock or Tremblant.

best,

It's a real bummer and you're absolutely right on some of these tracks. Mooty did try a few things for laguna which seems to be the most stringent. I know of one chap that did limerock with ours and because we allow you to use the stock tips he simply made some turn downs and was ok. I can't remember what the DB limit is there but it's higher than Laguna...

Is it worthwhile to consider any "performance enhancing" mods to the 997 GT3 ???

i.e. ECU flash, intake, etc., etc.

"performance enhancing"

beside driver and safety stuff

tires, which you did.
shorter gear ratio.

you can do intake/ecu etc, but the gain is minimal.

That's true. I haven't seen any "real" performance gains from any mod: intake, exhaust, ECU, or whatever.

To which type of alignment are you referring?

performance shouldn't just be seen as HP gains but weight savings.. that's something that can really help any gt3... Light weight seats, wheels yadda yadda...

Yep, weight savings are important... that's true.
I've already changed the seats and wheels.
