Flip? oh boy.
Sounds like you guys are right, I must have kept it inside too long, should have let the car drift out sooner. Made the same mistake of the drifting out at laguna going up the hill and almost kissed the wall - and that time I did not even lift.

Here was an interesting crash off turn 9 in an EVO.

http://www.muellerized.com/videos/92...%201-30-05.wmv

The best part is when he tries to restart the car.

I've apexed turn 9 early before, but I had seen this video a few times and knew to just keep it straight and keep heading towards the hot pits.

Hey Mooty,
What do you do about the new noise rule at Laguna.
I would hate to plan a weekend only to be turned away because of the exhaust being too loud.

as soon as you clip apex of T5, short shift to 4th and floor it. as soon as you hit the trackout pt, hold the lock and move full left. you will lose 1-1.5 seconds per lap.

Boy that was scary for everyone including the vettes following you. I would agree with others comments, You were holding the car WAY too low in that turn. Bumps down there and probably dirt. THe wind blows dirt on to the track there and not a lot of cars get that low to clean it off. Thus a combination of holding it tight and a loss of traction from dust dirt and the bumps could easily add to a slight loss of solid rear tire contact as well.I am glad to see there was no car to car contact you guys were all running close enough someone could have kissed. Nice job of keeping it to the inside.

I remember thinking I could catch the turbo by the entry to turn 9.

Lifted slightly just before turning into 8, applied more throtle at the entrance, the tail got figity just before the apex, I think I lifted slightly and a half a second later I was kissing my own ***.
Sounds like a very honest account and the video looks like text book lift-off 911 oversteer.

In my experience, a good clip through there is more 90 - 100 mph and that would explain the relative ease of the 'vettes keeping control and avoiding your car as it came back onto the track.

Next time, "both feet in."

Ditto on the radar detectors -- somebody needs to at least look at the cars before they get waved onto the track.

I believe the radar is hard wired and mounted to the mirror.

Bty. It's amazing and lucky how nothing really happened. My entry speed was somewhere around 135, so I must have been doing about 125 just before loosing it.

But I cant wait till next time. I think I am going to try and go deeper before the turn and try find a straiter line to t9.

What do you guys think?
