Default Laguna first weekend in February (2/2 - 2/3)

Any other GT3 drivers thinking of taking a break from the hard pack, sunny ski slopes for the first weekend in February, 2008 at Laguna?

( Doesn't that just sound like one of those "life memory" events ...? : )

I was just trying to catch up -- which thread?

Anyway, Aaron can't afford to cut $20 off the fee -- he needs the money for therapy after that reality TV show debacle ... : )

You're in the RS? That will be great to have a few similar cars there.

Can I have a drove, mister ... ?

ps. Woffred?

no, i bought some slower white car as you know.... just for LS. RS or your black toy will not pass sound. yes with turn downs and all.

ask christian. he's got some trick with vacuum lines and then you can do WOT up the hill.

The 997 GT3 with 3" dryer vent elbows passes Laguna at 92 dB WOT, 5000 rpm with one tire hitting the microphone ... : )

(as long as it's not a cloudy morning ... then a farking Hoover vacuum can't pass sound ... not that you could hear it over the highway commute traffic, buses and freight truck traffic noise beside the raceway ... sigh ... so it goes ... belligerent new home owner with time on their hands beats track day driver with twenty years of driving every time ... )

TH checks sounds for what?! The mushrooms in the meadow? F M !

ps. I hope my car aint broke, but the noise problem at Laguna is the exhaust flapper coming on and my memory is sadly long expired although I think that's a 4000-5000 rpm issue and I think 4th gear WOT at the apex and hold mid track, but I'm completely open to correction. Once I'm there in two weeks, I'll get the reality check and I hope to be running Alex's bypass and tweaking the elbows to find a way to turn consistent laps without tip-toeing past the sound station (and I think the Laguna/Monterey folks need to seriously redouble their efforts to push back on this bull****e.) I'm one of many drivers checking Sears dates as often or more often than Laguna dates because I'm just not interested in being the pain carrier of this sound nonsense -- when can a track be held to sound levels lower than a freeway next to homes in the suburbs.

What are we preserving for future generations if Laguna becomes a venue for a handful of events because wealthy fools want their trophy mansion in Carmel but can't afford the rent, so they buy next to a historical raceway? Isn't this what government is meant to do -- think long term and resist short term interests?

I better stop now of this post just won't make it with the expletives in my thoughts. FUAKEEG MORNNS BUYING AND BUILDING TROPHY HOMES NEXT TO A RACE TRACK!

I'm pretty sure I'll be there Sat checking out a new data system with a tech who lives up there. I could fly him to Willow, but I'd rather drive to Laguna..... 90 degree zoomies, motorcycle mufflers, and foam in my airbox.....

I registered for Saturday only.

I cannot do Sundays track days, given my work schedule.

First Time ever at one of my dream racetracks.

$240/day is just a killer deal, and I love the open passing with Speed Ventures on the Red group.

Rad I'm planning on going up early Friday AM to get some programming in on the data system. I've got plenty of room if you need any rims/tires hauled.....

This will be the first time in years we've been at the same track at the same time.

Let's figure out something to do for Saturday evening, maybe book a decent restaurant.

Cheers,
