Default DME location

Quick question, where's the DME on our cars. I've taken the front seat out, but the unit below there does not seem to be the DME. I'm trying to hook up my Traqmate and Chasecam by Wednesday

A good question; I looked on the PET catalog for the GT3 and it's not very informative from the point of view of location; the *only* clue that it gave is that the 997 DME is mounted on a 996 part #, which I think implies that it's in the same location in both cars ...

hope this helps?

look under the carpet in the back driver's side below the rear window. On the same plane as the rear strut mounts. Not 100%

Thanks guys, it is indeed under the carpet, behind the passenger seat, which makes it a real biatch to get to with the RS Roll bar and fixed back 996 GT3 seats. But now that I'm there I opened another can of worms since I'm looking for the wire D13 and E6 for my trackmate (along with a wire that goes to the brake light) but the 5 plugs on the back of the DME make no sense to me, and I have no idea which one is D or E.

Also, does anyone know if there are any hot wires back there that I can just tap into to hook up my Chasecam and Traqmate ?

So does DME = ECU? If so there's a good video by ImagineAuto showing how to remove the ECU. http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/s...d.php?t=113375

That video would've saved me 2 hours on "the Google"
