Who's still interested in an RS?
Would you only get it if it's at MSRP? Or are you willing to pay market value? Just interested to see how this turns out...

I'd only pay MSRP, but, honestly, once they drop to MSRP I probably won'y buy one. Part of the reason I want one at MSRP is because they are not easily available at MSRP!

If you look hard enough and are creative with trades or trade-ins, you can find a GT3rs at MSRP or even below.
I mentioned in an earlier thread that I found a NEW 2007 Green RS (msrp $137k)
I traded a slightly older Porsche that I had picked up a few years earlier and in the end, my cost basis was about $125k ...... maybe less when all is said and done.
I looked for the right opportunity and made a lot of calls for around three months.
I dealt with a fabulous dealer ..... Well worth the trouble

GT3 MkII with available sunroof delete option and DSG would adjust the RS pricing a bit.
Then again I wouldn't keep any hopes up though I did wish every time I see a shooting star....

I'd get one now if I didn't already own one, but going above MSRP for anything is just out of control....but given their relative rareness world wide; I would guess that there are still people who will end up paying over instead of waiting for the eventual drop

The effort to answer this question is admirable, but still futile (and hypothetical).
Based upon realities, people are paying over sticker, that is the current market.
Do I agree with Dealer practices?,..... absolutely not. Do I think people are stupid paying over sticker?, ... absolutely yes.
However, it is happening (so much for my opinion), and there are no more cars, so until we hit the recession it is likely to continue... more for the RS than the GT3 (law of smaller numbers).
I didn't vote for the obvious reasons.

Thank you Colm(this site has three wise men Colm, Eclou, and Mooty)...I waited a year and I just paid about 30k over for an orange RS!!!!
Here is my bottom line, I work my *** off for my family and for cars!!! I have spent alot of money modding my 997TT and I am interested to see how the RS is out of the box(although I am puttting on the sharkwerks bypass).
I want to say for all the people on this site complaining about dealers charging a premium for the RS...what about all the V6 cayennes they are stuck selling below invoice???

rich- about the v6 cayennes below invoice, I'd tell the dealers what I say to myself when I hear musicians complaining about going broke. "Make a better record and you'd make more money you tossers."
so if the v6 cayenne wasn't such a dog, maybe they could get full price for it.
I personally don't want to pay over sticker for a car, ever. but that's probably because cars still are relatively expensive to me. If/when I make millions a year, then maybe I would splurge a few K over for a car I "had to have" but right now at the mid-six figure range...I grovel for alms and msrps. lol.

I guess this is more a question about how much of a tight *** each of us is than whether or not the car is great or good or... So, since I am, indeed, a tight ***, I have no interest in paying more than what I deem the item is worth to me, so someone can make what I feel is an excessive profit... So, never over MSRP for a new RS, were I ever to decide to look for one. If that was not possible, then rather than pay more, I would look at something else. There are lots of cool cars out there.
