Default *Now Shipping* A.W.E. Tuning Carbon Fiber Upper Front Strut Brace.

This will help eliminate lateral flex in the front suspension. It does so by tying in the front upper shock mounts. There is no cutting, welding, or modification needed in anyway for the install!

For you weight conscious guys/gals out there, it is made of genuine carbon fiber and aluminum. It is both stiff and light. The entire bar only weighs in at 1 pound!

In stock and ready to ship.

Do 997 GT3s really have a problem and need a strut brace?

Same here. I thought the GT3/RS don't need them? Had one in my 993 and there was a noticeable difference when cornering after the strut brace install.

Sooo.... do I need one?

sometimes it's more of a want than a need
haha...looks good and when u have em on, should help reducing the flex whether it's very noticeable or not remains to be felt.

why??????? .... but i guess if you have nothing else to do with your car over the winter

no offense but it looks like a great place to hang dry cleaning on .. i never noticed the flex on the fron end of my gt3s from 996 to the 997 ...

Mike at AWE-

Strut tower braces I have used before (I'm thinking specifically of a Ruf product) have needed longer bolts to account for the added thickness of the brace at the mounting point. Does this brace come with longer bolts? Thanks in advance.

I dont understand either. there was never a strut brace available for my 996 GT3, and I noticed it was alot stiffer than my993 TT which had noticable flex WITH the strut bar. I thought there was chassis improvement over the 997?
OTH the bar looks like I need it (It has carbon fiber)

Default strut bar

While it appears to be a quality piece of goods, IMHO I think buying a strut bar which is not triangulated is pretty much a waste of money.

The key question iso they put them on the factory cup cars or achieve the same results in some other fashion? If not,I'd say save your money for some other "go fast" part.

996 and 997 cars do not need a strut brace, the factory took care of that already. The cups use the stock peice. Looks nice, but completely useless, sorry.

Looks cool to me, but I can't imagine the car not being stiff enough already. Now, if I can modify this to work in my 240Z, I'm in!

once you get that camber figured out the strut bar will be pointless.

Looking forward to the next time we ride...

That is correct. But it does make for a nice clothes hanger as someone already mentioned.

That brings up a good point. With the strut brace, do you need as much, or any, additional negative camber?
