i have seen the wheels a few months back, gorgeous stuff.
too bad they dont fit my car.
if you got a narrow body GT3 and looking for wheels, this is it.

I have received several emails with questions regarding how much the wheels weigh. Rather than dismount the tires, I called Toyo and asked them how much the tires weigh.
Toyo says their 305/35 x 18 RA-1's weigh 32 lbs each. The combined weight of a 305 with a BBS 18 x 12 rim is 52 lbs by my scale. The rear wheels therefore weigh about 20 lbs each.
Toyo says their 245/40 x 18 RA-1's weigh in at 25 lbs each. The combined weight by my scale is 45 lbs. the front wheels therefore also weigh about 20 lbs each.
PM with your email address if you would like a photo of the wheels and tires on the scale.

ok, you really want to get confused then.
i purposely left out non GT series.
in 993 and 996 series (non GT cars), the "S" means wide body, doesn't matter how many wheel drive.
in 997 series (non GT cars), AWD is always wide body and RWD are always narrow. the "S" only denote powerplant size, not *** size.
i am pretty sure this is correct. if not, someone correct me and kick me in the head.

I will look it up on the Porsche website and report back ASAP!

I think you are correct. Now let me push your brain a little more. So which body does the 997 targa have? I believe it only comes in AWD, but I don't know if you have a choice of motors (325 or 355); maybe it also only comes as a 355. Does it have the wide body too?

Now, for one issue that I have. All the widebody cars are 3 mph slower than the narrow body cars; which makes sense. All the heavier cabs and AWD cars are slower in acceleration than their 2 wheel drive coupe counterparts with the AWD Cabs being the slowest acceleration of all. The Cab top speed is the same as coupe as long as it has the same body and motor (makes sense, the CD is the same).
So then we get to the GT3 and the GT3 RS. The RS accelerates 0.1 quicker to 60; this makes sense based on the slightly lighter weight, but I thought it has more to do with the LWFW; am I correct? Especially in the US where the RS is maybe only 27 lbs lighter or something like that. However, what does not make sense is the top speed of the RS vs. the regular narrow body GT3. It should also be slower with a CD of .30 instead of .29 when both cars have the same HP. It should be closer to 190 or 191 mph; not 193. This really is not important, but I was just wondering about this. I also know that Porsche can make mistakes, and they can also fib a little bit because the $17,400 more expensive RS needs to be at least as fast as the regular GT3 and maybe edge it out in acceleration. Of course the real performance advantage of the RS is on a track that allows the car to take advantage of its increased downforce and slightly better wheelbase; but from my understanding, unless you are Walter Rohrl (or somewhere in his atmosphere), then you will not really notice or be able to take advantage of the difference. But don't get me wrong, I wold still rather have the RS if I could get my hands on one for MSRP and get the sunroof delete and one of them cool color combos.
One more question for the experts, please be gentle with me for I am ignorant.
How come the wheel base of every single 997 is 92.52 inches (including the turbo) except for the GT3 and RS? The GT3 is 93.0 inches and the RS is 92.9 inches. Isn't the wider wheel base better, and isn't the RS wheelbase supposed to be widerthan the regular GT3? Is this a typo?
