Default 295 on 12 inch wheel?

Can you put a 295 tire onto the GT3 12 inch wheel or is 295 too small?

Thanks

I think tire experts would say no. The rim width range for PS2's in this size is 10-11 inches

for the winter season i put 295 snows on and it looks rediculous - way to narrow a tire but i only plan on using them to drivie a couple times a month to keep the car in working order - there is at least 1cm of rim on each side of the tire

305 or 325's. Anything smaller looks small. It would work mind you.

295 on 12 will overstretch the tire too much and it's worse when u put on soft sidewall tires like PS2
so 305min IMO.

295 is way too small for a 12" wide wheel. Here are the 19" PS2 specs from Tire Rack.

Tire ............ Rim Width Range ... Measured Width
295 ............... 10.0 - 11.0" .............. 10.5"
305 ............... 10.5 - 11.5" .............. 11.0"
315 ............... 11.0 - 12.0" .............. 11.5"
345 ............... 11.5 - 12.5" .............. 12.0"

305 is actually still a tad smaller for 12J..
I think best for 12J is 325 but hard to come by

Sorry I don't have it now, but once I get them I'll post a couple pictures of a 305 on a 12" rim under full cornering load. It's interesting to see the wheel pushing out past the tire.

Dr Car,

I am curious to know what brand tires you have on the pictures. MPSC are usually larger than a Toyo for example.

A Conti will work, but not a Bridgestone.

Those are 305/30/18 Kumho Ecsta V700 on an 18x12; front is a 245/35 on an 18x9. This is a cheap R-compound tire and I enjoyed it a lot.
