996 GT3 Seats (Leather) 28 lbs ea.
996 GT3 Seats (Cloth) 26 lbs ea.
996 GT3 Seats (Leather) with Carbon Shell 26 lbs ea.
996 GT3 Seats (Cloth) with Carbon Shell 24 lbs ea.
997 GT3 Carbon Seats: 22 lbs each
The 997 RS Carbon seats save 60 lbs over the stock U.S. 997 GT3 Seats. The 996 GT3 Recaro Leather Seats save 48 lbs over the stock 997 GT3 seats, and they also save plenty of money.
Bobby, you need to add 45 lbs for the RS rollbar, plus the harnesses weight (around 6 lbs for a pair). Your car should be around 3,143 lbs with 3/8 of a fuel tank, and 3,100 lbs with no fuel.
ch. The new 997 Carbon seats weigh 22 lbs.

Rad,
Your info on weights is what I have heard in the past. However, there is a post on 6speedonline stating the weight difference from adaptive sport seats and RS carbon seats differing by over 100 lbs/pair. In that post it was stated that with mounting hardware, the CF 997 seats were weighed at close to 18 lbs and the adpatives somewhere in the 70s lbs range.
Based on Porsche literature on the Porsche sport buckets for the GT2, the seats are 15 lbs lighter than the sport seats and 17 lbs lighter than adaptives (per seat). So the 997 RS seats should be 15 lbs lighter than these.

Hey Jon,
The weights I posted include seats, cushions and mounting hardware.
I weighed my 28 lbs Leather Recaro seats:
- Mounting Hardware (rails and bolts): 11 lbs
- Cushions: 2.5 lbs
- Shell: 14.5 lbs
Porsche (as usual) is wrong on the stated weight savings with the new 997 GT2 seats. Grussell weighed his Adaptive Sport Seats at 64 lbs each. If we trust Porsche, the 17 lbs saving over the adaptive sport seats will bring the new 997 GT2 Carbon seats at: 47 lbs. I don't think those new seats are that heavy.
Also, the weight difference between the 997 Sport seats and the adaptive sport seats is not 2 lbs, it is closer to 10 lbs.

I was at Mosport a couple of weeks ago, there were 3 other RS's there ALL with GPS, full leather, full carbon, coloured dials, coloured belt's, deviated stitching, PCCB's and of course the manadory go faster dash haemoroid, I've finally come to realise that we are the ones out of step with the RS target market. One of the cars actually had a custom see-thru subwoofer/power amp enclosure in the rear. It blows my mind. Oh well it's their money and just reinforces Porsches marketing direction.

Doing some searching on seat weight, someone a while back weighed a standard sport seat at 52 lbs. If Porsche is accurate in stating the new sport buckets are 15 lbs lighter, it puts them at 37 lbs.
As mentioned that the CF seats save 60 lbs over two sport seats, each CF seat then should weigh 22 lbs. So Rad is correct.

Now it makes sense. I was getting a 3,202 lbs for the car described, and I could not find the other 43 lbs.
Your car stock without fuel (stock sport seats, no rollbar, no harnesses) should hit the scales at around 3,140 lbs. This number is consistent with the data I have from others.
