Default GT3 dropped off at Farnbacher

I dropped my GT3 off to get a roll bar, 996 race seat and harness installed Thursday and will get it back Monday. They are also doing a track alignment to get away from the stock understeer issue.

Did a track day at Lime Rock earlier in the week and I was surprised how well the bone stock car ran. Did a bit of short shifting since the miles are still under 1,000 but even with that and crappy Pirellis she did 1:00.5's all afternoon. Just did not fell very safe with a push and no harness or roll bar in the downhill.

Fikse's and slicks are on order too

RS Roll bar with install was $3,035

Pictures to follow......

I am really happy with everything Kip did for me, great guy and great shop. The race set-up, while reducing the ride height 3mm (F), 5mm (R) and putting a S**T load of front camber in place still rides very nice on public roads. But the turn-in...., WOW.

The Glen on Oct 17th and 18th will be the test however.

What is SRF brake fluid? Why did you have the motor mount changed?

Thanks

Castrol SRF Racing Brake Fluid

The motor mass as we all know is waaaaay back there. Removed Hydro mounts and replaced with solid rubber to reduce the "pendulum effect" of a traditional Porsche. Simply put, trying to keep everything planted as best possible to prevent tail snap.

Camber set to 2.6 F and 2.1 R, the way they are when the factory tests their own cars before setting them up for the general public.

Did you go to 2.6 F and 2.1 R because of the incoming slicks? Any other upcoming changes once you get your slicks?

I had my car done there too, same things but the motor mounts. The car feels great too. My best with the crappy Pirellis was 1.011 at LRP, and for the other 5 times there, times have been getting a bit worse...

Thanks!!!

Hey I saw your car there last week!! Nice graphics and nice set-up on the car too.

Honestly this is about as far as I will go, a street car will never be a race car. The curent set-up will allow me to have some seat time on a track when I am not in a race car but still enjoy driving to/from work or around the area with one of my kids.

Hey thanks.

Yes, I agree. I believe mine is a bit milder, 2.2 F and 1.9. I plan to go with R6s next season, so it'll go back for a bit more camber and all. Kip thought this was as much we should go for on the Pirellis.

After 6 track days, I'm not sure how good these tires are now. Got a best 1.016 Monday at LRP, but I was fighting a bit, sliding and all. I never tried Hoosiers or slicks, so I can't wait!!!

Excellent installed price - price some paid just for the bar prior to installation.

60.5 secs at LRP is really fast. You just broke all the PCA Club Racing B class records, even though these experienced Club Racers were running on Hoosiers (over 1 second faster than the stock Pirelli Corsa at LRP), race alignments and 250 lbs lighter cars.

Lime Rock is my home track so I have tons of laps in here, fastest ever was in a Skippy car last year at 56.5 which became the track record. Fastest time for me in a Porsche was 58.8 in the Koni race this year.

I am looking forward to seeing how the GT3 runs with the new changes.

- I would love to get a drive with you in the stock gt3 doing 1min laps
- I had it down to 1:05, but I'm new to this, but if you have a video or data on a 1 min lap in the stock car would love to see it
- Could the perelli's be faster than the crappy OE MPSCs
- My experience with the exact same alignment that you have (-2.7f, -2.2r, 0 toe in my case) versus the standard track setup is that turn in is better, rear end is a little more active, but the stock OE MPSC tires just can't grip in the mid to slow turns to benefit much
- also, given my recent experience getting a ride by a very good driver with a set of R6s on his car, my guess is that you will be at least 2 seconds faster (maybe more) on Hoosiers at Limerock

please post a video if you have if

If I can get a ride with you (are you an instructor), it would be very much appreciated.

thank
